Went and seen Frozen in the cinema earlier. Amazingly brilliant. Plenty of laughs.

Just watched Gravity. I don't think I have ever seen a film with better visual effects before, truly amazing. From the huge scale of the Earth, then on to the minute detail of the objects flying through space which sets the adventure in motion and even the light hitting off objects in the movie. It has scenes which move seamlessly between live shots of the actors in front of green screen straight into full animation, but the line between the two is blurred so much that you only really notice it because it's technically Sci-Fi (maybe just thriller in space), and it has to be animation.

The stills don't really do it justice - http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LVQ5OQeUN...uE/s1600/gravity_3d_15021301_st_16_s-high.jpg

The movie only has a few shots which last for length periods of time. The opening scene last for a long time as Sandra Bullock works on the Hubble Telescope and George Clooney flies around, until they are hit and Bullock is sent into the vacuum of space. It looks amazing as the camera swoops around the Telescope and the crew. It works over the full length of the movie because it is a shortish film and the fact there is only a small number of characters we see for any length of time.

The one thing I didn't get was the fact there seemed to be nobody on the International Space Station or the Chinese Space Station. Bullock came along, did some stuff and left :smiley-laughing002:. Plus if the science behind the movie was correct (of course it's not important) then maybe a couple of big events wouldn't happen, but I won't spoil it :50:

No, but from what I was reading I really should have. Still visually amazing, it's not one of those films to inserts stupid wee bits designed just for 3D. It acts 'normally', with 3D just being another part of it instead of the main thing about it.
