There's a tendency to think we know famous people just by way of them appearing on TV a lot. It's not the case though. It takes time to know someone, years in most cases imo. It's maybe part of the celebrity culture in the UK, where we assume the personality someone portrays on TV is an accurate reflection of real life. Just look at someone like Jimmy Saville. In hindsight he looked like the King of Nonces though tbf.

That's why I referred to Rickson as a 'pantomime villain' earlier on. He went around the pitch snarling and loved to wind up the opposition players and fans (similar to Broony in that regard perhaps). There's no doubt in my mind he was also a man with a few demons. Like anyone else though, I'm sure his time away from pitch was spent enjoying life with family and friends, without much regard for the Celtic/Rangers rivalry.

I don't think anyone has said that. The question has been asked, "what would happen if the shoe was on the other foot?"

The thread has been very sympathetic too him. It would be almost inhuman to not feel sorry for a guy with a young child who's effectively been given a death sentence, with a continuously decreasing quality of life until then.

I don't understand this part ? If shoe was on the other foot? If they want to be idiots then so be it. It's nothing to do with me they don't represent me. However id like to think our support in the whole are a little more grown up than that. Not they said this he said that or what would they do . Who cares what anyone does aslong as we do te right thing. It only makes them look like arseholes.

iando, you are arguing a point that doesn't exist.

And who comes on a Celtic forum to rip into his own fans when the huns are being criticised?

    Strange.

I think you're missing the point. Someone simply posed the question, which is entirely reasonable.

Supporters of all clubs act like * sometimes. I can't remember the exact details but I'm sure Hearts did something pretty disgusting when we first learned about Petrov's illness.

It's fair question to ask. Personally I would like to think they would act similarly, and I think the majority of them would.

    Not ripping into anyone.
I've been at games and sang songs which aren't nice. What I'm saying is people saying what would it be on the other foot? Who cares what it would be we are more grown up than * for tat.

I was thinking that myself. Nobody has been disrespectful on this thread. And I wouldn't expect there to be anyone either.

Nope, nobody has said that. Ibrox in 2000? What game and I'll check it out the night.

Can you show me where it was said?

Sometimes our own fans confuse me. By and large we've all expressed our sympathy for Ricksen, but for some that isn't enough?

Honestly can't get my around someone reading this thread and then feeling the urge to post about something he claims to have heard 14 years ago from our fans, in some kind of futile attempt to equate us with the dead club.

    Exactly.

The very fact that this thread exists, and the comments posted inside have been posted shows the difference between us and them.

No other evidence or discussion is needed in that regard.

I've heard a lot about this disease it's absolutely horrible and something no one should have to go through.

Cannot help but feel a huge deal of sympathy for the lad.

I think maybe you actually need to read the thread before steaming in and making an * of yourself.

Honestly, this post gets worse every time I read it. What an absolute * * of a post.

And to do it after having not read the * thread and realising nobody has said anything that you are having your daily rant at just makes it all the more embarrassing.
