Hire a proper DOF or someone who’s at least had a similar role.

 

Is it too late to get Matteo Tognozzi? In this full process he is probably the most qualified candidate mentioned for any role and had said he would be interested at the time.

I know there is no chance but he sounded like he would have been ideal.

 

That would be the sensible thing to do but we are reportedly looking at Shaun Maloney. I like Shaun but as our DOF I think that's mental.

It should be the best guy for the job based on experience of doing a similar role.

 

Why the * would we go after the most qualified person for the job ? Mental suggestion

 

I said the same thing today. That article about him that was floating about was a great read, I remember deciding there and then I wanted him in.

 

Club is an embarrassment. Board should just resign and anyone buying a ST is nuts

 

Can't Pete continue as DOF and double up as manager

 

As much as I like wee Shaun I really can't see him as DOF. He is assistant with Martinez at prob the Best European National team at the moment. Working in that environment would surely wet his appetite to be his own Manager. If he is as good as Martinez had said in the past then he would be wasted as DOF at us.

 

I never want us taking chances giving guys their first job in management again. We are too big for guys to treat us like an apprenticeship.

We need experience not an old pals act.

I like Shaun but not to be manager even DOF is stretching it but I'd risk that more than manager.

 

I'm always thinking the next day might get better but not with this * board in charge and its bad enough appointing a guy with no UK or European experience as manager and now we want to appoint a exceltic player with no experience in this field as DOF and this has the hallmarks of a car crash season and may as well phone up the zombies and tell them to keep the league trophy for another season .

 

Agree, fed up of the old boys network. Unfortunatley it looks like we still be going down that road. We have had the Spin with Howe, then we have Ange. He will suddenly turn us down, focus then will turn to Clarke, who I have said all along is our boards cheapest preferred appointment. But Clarke won't make any descisions until after the Euros, but then turns us down after Euros. Board give a statement it's too late to find the right guy and announce Kennedy and Strachan as manager and coach. Strachan Senior then becomes DOF, John Hughes becomes Chief Scout whilst focusing on the Colts. Back to the 90's !!!
