I'll tell you what, if Ross Desmond (a guy we know little about) is replacing bankier (a guy we know little about), while also bringing in a younger, progressive sounding CEO in McKay to replace lawwell AND a DoF in Harlin with a strong bond and sought after at city, then things are certainly being rejigged and then some.

If they are going to that sort of length, then I think an Eddie Howie manager is going to be in the door, at least.

You don't make those sort of structural changes and plump with Lennon or Ross, surely.

Proof will be seen in a few months if Desmond does replace bankier and s DoF does come in.

The DoF should be appointing the manager.

Absolutely - I'd be happy if there is any truth in this. I've been a believer in having a DoF for years and this guy certainly seems to fit the bill (I'm pretty sure Man City/Pep don't keep people around if they're not up to the job and he's been at City in different roles for 12 years I believe).

However, this must be part of a complete revamp - Lennon must go and IMO Hammond and Strachan also - I would only be happy with Kennedy staying if it were with the kids (no involvement with the first team).

It's also vital that (if this guy does join) that the new manager can work with him. I remember Spurs hiring Santini and he left after 13 games because of clashing with the DoF. However, it's often top class players who are DoF that clash with a mangers and Harkin's "career" as a player was pretty much nothing.

I try not to get my hopes up with Celtic but with Lawwell going and this guy possibly arriving, there may be a whole new operational structure being put in place.

Also he was a younger player at Leicester when O'Neill & Lenny were there. Is there going to be a connection again???

I've no wish to offend the mighty Harps - but the DoFs who have famously have issues with managers have tended to be players who played at the top level, Arnesen at Spurs + Chelsea, Wise at Newcastle. Some of the more respected ones Edwards at Liverpool, Garlick at Arsenal never played top level football.

I just think these guys are less likely to think they are experts on the tactical/playing side and leave the manager to get on with it.

Your spot on. I was just highlighting Finn Harps as they were one of my old teams. I don't think Fergal will have an issue getting on with anyone if he does come here. Always comes across as nice person

Hopefully something to it, whether it’s him or someone else, it’s promising

Know nothing about him, only going on the assumption that if he is indeed a key part of Pep's backroom team then he must have some pedigree.

We will appoint a DOF but it won't be Fergal... 100%.
