With regards to the amount of sets? Honestly haven’t thought about it much. I mainly watch men’s tennis. What’s the reasoning given for women playing less sets?

So equality doesn’t really mean equality? And I really couldn’t give a * if a woman can’t lift 78kg every 4 mins, I just would like to stop hearing about how much they are held back in the workplace. And I’m glad we’ve worked out there is such a thing as a mans job.

    Ffs :56:

Putting someone at unnecessary risk of injury because of their biology isn’t equal. Why should a person be punished because of their biology?
I’m clearly no expert but there’s plenty of examples of it in certain industries, and I don’t really think manual handling should come into it. People should lift what they’re physically capable of.

So you admit there are certain jobs that only able bodied men can do?

No idea in the Modern game a clear why?
Yet Tennis was forced to pay equal pay.
It would be like one * (If you are allowed to say that in some quarters:56:).
Anyway yes it would be like one * working 25 Hours a Week in an Office doing the same job and getting the same money as the other * who work 40 hours!!

The whole argument of there not being enough women CEOs is a weird angle for feminsists to use. Why is such a job seen as being so desirable? These men often work 80+ hour work weeks and are incredibly driven to focus on nothing but work. By nature, women are often more people/family driven. I'm no psychologist but I would imagine a lot of that is based on testosterone levels.

It's not so much admitting anything, rather just stating a fact, there is some lifting that some women (or men) can't do. But once again, that doesn't mean they should be disadvantaged at work because of that. It's up to the employer to follow the law and ensure equal opportunities, and if the scope of the job is wider than manual handling, then it's their decision on what criteria needs to be fulfilled before the employ a person. I've asked why anyone should be discriminated or disadvantaged on the basis of their biology, and no-one's said anything to the contrary, so I assume everyone would agree that we shouldn't discriminate based on that. If said lifting is a such a key component of a person's job then it should be open to anyone who's capable of doing it, if there's more to the job than lifting, then I don't think the law would allow for people to not be hired based on that alone.

On a side note, there are robotic arms or robotic exoskeletons, that assist people in lifting. It won't surprise me if in the distant future, people are using these in workplaces to assist lifting.

From what I can see, the people who run the Grand Slam tournaments have no desire to increase the amount of playing time in an already busy schedule and don't wish to reduce the men's games to three sets. It's not the fault of female players that they don't play more sets, why should they be punished for it? There are female players that have said they'd be happy to play five sets in slams. It's up to the slam organisers to have that discussion.

This is not true. This perception is based upon our societal structures, not 'nature'. On a purely chemical level (nature), maternal or paternal instinct comes from the hormone oxytocin, female or not. A parent doesn't even need to be the child's biological parent, in order to develop that maternal bond. 'Maternal instinct' has long since been proven to be a myth and changes to society mean that more and more women aren't actually interested in becoming mothers. The stereotype of women being more empathetic and as you say, 'people driven' is based on pre-conceived gender roles, nothing more than a social construct. Testosterone is a * hormone. In men, it’s thought to regulate libido, bone mass, fat distribution, muscle mass and strength, and the production of red blood cells and sperm production. It doesn't influence how driven you are by family or people.

I operate robots in my work they do most of the manual lifting the men used to do, but nice dodging of my question though. So I’ll ask again is there certain jobs in the workplace that women aren’t able to do that has to be done by men?

You've dodged every question I've asked, mate.

To answer your question, no. There are some women who are very strong, who could lift the same sort of weights as you. Did you say 80kg? I know and have seen women who can deadlift a fair bit more than that. So it's not entirely dependent on *. That still doesn't mean the average woman, who can't lift that, should be discriminated against on the basis of her biology.

Equal pay for women and men in Tennis is bizarre. It is in place isn't it?

Why should women be paid the same when 1. Less people watch it and less money is generated from it and 2. The skill level is much lower?

There are top female players who have said they'd be happy to play five sets, or female players that think the male game should be cut to three. It's the governing bodies of tennis that are resistant to the change, for a variety of reasons.
