Its just dawned on me we had two 19 and two 20 yr olds on the pitch from the start tonight. The two 19 yr olds are arguably our twobest players! That's good to see. It's a good result for them and I think the dressing room after the game would have been an encouraging place to be.
    Onwards and upwards

Opinions of football fans, and on this forum in particular, can change almost instantaneously. See opinions on Bitton after todays decent performance.

All things considered the result favours us the away goal that griff who apparently cant score in europe scored has given us exactly the advantage we need.

Roberts was outstanding, destroyed their entire left side of defence by himself and was kicked about all night ref was shocking, the penalty shout and constant proffesional fouls by astana went unpunished.

A competent ref would have had them down to 9 men for their constant attacks on roberts and anything in hoops.

Considering we have not even played a league game and they are midway thtough their season then it was a decent showing by us, the pitch was really poor too the ball was tooo quick and didnt hold up or slow enough for the vital passes and we had to adjust.

Dembele's time will come he did so well for the penalty claim was unlucky and he is still only 20 BR will nurture him so chill the * out.

O'Connel was a big plus point had an efe start but recovered to be more like VVD - Impressive

2nd leg I'd go with more or less the team that finished the game with efe being relaced by toure or erik
