The guy was signed as a squad player.
Lennon was well aware that we had no recognised LB's at the club, worked hard to get Izaguirre.

Aye ok he's not the best defender in the world but he does offer us something if he plays..set pieces...bit of height etc.....

And Dazza......who gives a * what Aberdeen supporters think.........they find sheep sexy and * into bags of cotton wool when the sheep are at work FFS!:icon_mrgreen:

Exactly, I find it very fustrating that people keep bringing this up as a reason to have him at Celtic.

I'm sure most folk remember the game at Parkhead when he scored two for Aberdeen and they were 2 -1 up. We came back and won, both the goals came down his flank and he was badly, badly at fault for our winner. What use is that?

    I agree.

Lets face it, the majority of Celtic fans had branded him a dud signing before he even kicked a ball in a Celtic shirt.

He was bought as backup and that's what he is - decent back-up.

The biggest compliment you could pay him is, every single time we (or the huns) played against him he caused allsorts of problems. His delivery is put into the danger area at pace between the keeper and the back line and his direct free kicks around the box almost always make the keeper work.

He'll get his chance again and hopefully won't be hung out to dry by the supporters.

My feelings exactly, he was always going to be on a hiding to nothing. Some of the comments concerning him have been well over the top if not disgraceful.

He really didn't, he was woeful.

You must have very, very low expectations.

feel he should be given the same amount of time as any of our signings to settle in and do there bit, far too many people were on the lads back even before he kicked a ball.

It wont be that when he plants one in the top corner against rangers at ibrox.

still young and can improve defensively

good going forward, and is a good left hand side option if we have injuries in midfield etc

but overall i'm a little ashamed at the treatment he has taken so far and deserves to be treated like any new player.

think he will do his bit over the course

After half an hour he took the * out their right winger, he played very well after that. No excuse but the injury he is out for just now he had before the game and took 2 painkillers.

Agreed 100%, there is no such thing as 'Celtic class' it is a romantic notion which is complete pish. Frankly. 'Celtic class' at this moment in time is the best players we can buy on the shoestring budget our league allows us.

Yip. He is no David Beckham even if he's better at free kicks:56:

I hate watching footballers with a fear of the game and he's one of them.

Well. Charlie loves this club. He's been a Celtic fan his whole life. He got his dream of being able to play for this club. Well done, son.

That said, I don't think that he deserves some of the abuse he gets here. It doesn't make him a good enough defender for us, but he still doesn't deserve some of the bullshit.

He's good to have when we're in a pinch at the end of a game if someone goes out injured. I'd rather we NOT have to use him as a sub, but hey, we don't have a lot of options sometimes.
