What a stupid post man!!!

By people voting with their feet on Tuesday, the board need to realise that there is massive issues at the club that THEY need to address...

There are around 3 or 4 home games left of the season, yes they have our money for this season, but they should now realise that there is sincere resentment towards the board from the fans, and they need to address the issues.

This absolute nonsense of faithful through and through... One thing that completely * me off about this board and other Celtic forums at times. Its like a competition to see who can sound the most Celtic minded, its ridiculous.

To the original OP... I personally stayed away on Tuesday night, I am completly disillusioned just now at whats going on at celtic park... I have had a book for around 20 years now, have friends and family who have been attending games 30 / 40 / 50 years, so people like me and many others on this forum dont need any newbe's on here questioning our loyalty to Glasgow Celtic!

The board, and some others on here need to get with the program, the prices are frozen or rise, while the quality diminishes... we have been blindly purchasing books for the past 6/7 seasons, without any gauruntees from the club!

Its time as Celtic supporters, more so than the board, our vioces where heard, and if the board continue to not listen, we will vote with our feet!

The "Celtic Family" is a distant memory, Celtic is purely a business, and as fans (customers) we have been severly mistreated at times.

So less of the patronising nonsense of faithful Through and through please... there are people on here who have been going to Celtic park religiously for decades, who sadly are also now at the end of their tether.

The ones that go on about a protest don't know what they are talking about. They would be the same ones who would be blaming the board if we lost 2nd place but in honesty could be contributed towards it be by showing no support to the team. We where lucky to win the other night their and it was with no help to the ones who stayed away thinking they where protesting.

I remember in the 90's we turned up to games standing in the jungle and where able to stand at one of the support poles and lads next to you where down at the next support poles. We protested before the game and after the game. The cameras where there and showed our plight. Something was done as we all know.

Now the ones that stayed away had nothing to do with the changes then and they sure as * will have nothing to do with the chance this time either sitting in there houses.

The board sure as * know there is a problem, they don't need us not turning up for them to realise it.

When Rangers where going through their hard times over the last 10 years, they did desert their team as bad as we have.

Get grip lads. Are you going to embarrass yourselves turning up for the Old Firm game when everyone around you that has been going will know you are where just talking pish to yourself as an excuse to not going, because a your so called protest means all games you know.

I hope I call your bluff

    Agreed :50:

Most of the fans who didn't go on Tuesday night and won't be there on Saturday will probably be at the Old Firm game with bells on.

yes but there are people who have to make sacrifices to get to the football and spend money at to get to games and buy programmes etc. They don't have loads of money lying around so why would they be so happy to make such a sacrifice when they don't even enjoy what they are doing/seeing. You can't just moan at people and say 'you aren't a proper fan' because you don't want to sacrifice the money to attend 2 football games in one week when you are on £200 per week and have a family to provide for or are even unemployed. Get a grip, doesn't make them any less of a fan.

Bhoys, I'm going to sound like a real * here, but who cares. I've been to two Celtic games in my life. Once when I was eight, and my dad took me to see Celtic at CP the week before we emigrated to Australia, the other when I drove up to Brisbane to see them play in a friendly last July. Like many people around me, I had tears in my eyes when the team ran into the field in Brisbane. To be there with 31 000 other Celtic people was just magic. It was like coming home. The pubs around the ground were packed with people wearing the hoops. It was unbelievable. And it was like being with your family. Celtic is not just another football club. The club defines us in a way that no other organisation can. I live in a little town in NSW, where no one even knows what Celtic is. Believe me, coming together with all those Celtic people in Brisbane, many of whom had travelled thousands of miles to be there, meant a * of a lot to all of us. Keep the faith. We are different. We are Celtic. And the bad times will pass. For those millions of us who can only watch the games on television, you guys in the stands mean every bit as much to us as the players. You are what Celtic is all about.

    Listen mate

This is not a 1 season thing, I have been there in the 90's etc... when things behind the scene where bad as well on the park, so this nonsense about calling our bluffs is bollox!

YOU HAVE TO REALISE SOMETHING, THATS A MAJORLY IMPORTANT POINT:

People are * off as financially, as a club, we are going through a relative good point, its Rangers who are currently having major financial difficulties and who our Club should have buried 3 years ago, but their inability to act on this has been a major disappointment!

Even through the Strachan stage, the prices and the quality on the pitch, our opponents etc... were diminishing, and trying to justify the season book to myself never mind the family was becoming hard.

This tripe about calling our bluffs... Again, Ive been going to watch celtic since I was a wean, hiome and away, as well in Europe, it wouldnt suprise me if i have seen Celtic far more than yourself mate... I have seen things change drastically over the past few years, some good some bad. But what you need to relaise now is that we are treated as customers of a prodct now, not fans with a say!

So from your above statement: Do you say you are more of a Celtic man than myself or the other 40,000 who never went to teh game on Tuesday.... ???

I only go on about people giving lame excuses to not turning up when the truth is plane to see. They don't want to go and see there team because they are not playing that well.

We are no worse of now than we where in the early 90's, infact I think we are a lot better off than we ever have been and just because there has been a lot of mistakes being made with either continuing to buying the wrong players of not giving enough money to buy the proper players doesn't mean staying away will change it.

As I said the board will know what is wrong and I’m sure Dermot won’t be putting up with this crap either.

Staying away in protest is not for change; it is an excuse for not turning up.

Excellent post mate, I totally agree some people are just using the excuse of "we're protesting" simply because the can't be bothered.

By the way you should see about trying to get over to a game with us if you get the chance, the ones that come from Drogheda are all mad :icon_mrgreen:

You are missing the point here mate!

We are not staying away in protest, staying away because we are royally * off at spending so much money watching utter pish, and not enjoying going to watch Celtic over the past few years. the product we are spending money on, does not equate to what we are watching.

And as I pointed out, we are better off than we have been in a long time, and a near bankrupt Rangers side will be going for 3 in a row next term, that looks to complete miss management of the club I have followed since a boy.

And where do you get this confidence in Dermot Desmond not taking this pish either, and will be looking to act on it.... :87:

You must be one of very very few who think that!

And believe me mate, im not transparent at all as to why I was not there on Tuesday...

So I couldn't "Simply be bothered" the other night, that is why I wasn't there.... ???

Wrong big time, I have went through the bad times of the 90's, when we had no money, when things looked doomed, now we have money and the team is in a far worse state than I can care to remember.

So you think regardless, no matter how we feel, the complete absense of enjoyment, we should be there... ???

I am in no doubt about sending mixed messages to this board, the fact that the stadium was less than a 3rd full, should and would have been a shot in the arm to that board that they need to act big in the summer.

I doubt if a full stadium would have had the same effect...

Ive already gave my ticket away as Im away fro the old firm game, but if you are asking would i have been there, the answer would probably be yes...

At least that game would have an emotional and far more enjoyable experience for myself and the 40,000 who never showed on tuesday, due to the atmosphere, biggest rivals, one of the biggest games in the world, my general resentment of rangers...

So to be honest, I think thats an empty question

The bit that said SOME FANS suggests I wasn't making a sweeping generalisation about all fans that didn't go, * I wasn't even there myself, I too went in the 90's so I don't see how bringing that up makes any difference.

Some fans couldn't be bothered, some of those same fans that couldn't be bothered on Tuesday and will not be bothered on Saturday will suddenly find that they can be bothered when it comes to the OF game that's the point that some of us are trying to make.

I dont think its an empty question. Sounds like you are just supporting us through the good times, and when it comes to the bad times, you are wanting to protest, and refuse to go.

I don't see it as an empty question though, you are disillusioned with the club so you don't go to the games, but suddenly because it's a big game you are no longer disillusioned enough to stay away.

This is nothing to do with who is the better fans as I don't believe that can be measured you either are or are not a Celtic fan, however I genuinely don't understand why people can only be disillusioned from attending certain games.

I won't be at anymore games this season because of alternative plans that were made before the split fixtures were announced but if I was getting no enjoyment out of following Celtic I wouldn't go to any game, not just pick and chose the big games only.

If people want to show the board how fed up they are then surely the big games is the ideal time to do so?

And who can change that... ???

If people are completely disillusioned with whats going on at Celtic Park now, and generally can be bothered, I wont take a swipe at them myself.

No matter what way its put, the OF game will always be full, the day it isnt, is the day when Scottish football imo will be doomed!

So you honestly dont think that with only 1/3 of the crowd turning up on Tuesday, the board will not have got a severe message from that... ???

If not, what other assumptions could the board have made.... ???
