Right, right, right... Ok well, saying "* Uefa" on a banner didn't really express any of that to me. It's as effective as saying, "* the Queen," "* the Pope", "* x, y, and z." Sure, they have every right to express their feelings but I don't really think they will achieve anything.

I also think it's ironic to pay a lot of money to Uefa to attend one of their events and then have a banner saying "* Uefa." That's like saying, "I know you're corrupt and I hate your organisation, but I will continue to monetarily support your greedy football destroying business."

Like I said man, waffling a lot of * on a forum is getting nobody anywhere (me included), so if you (or I) want to make changes in the Celtic support then isn't about time we got off our arses and done it?

Same with the amount of people who complain about the lack of saltires, take a * saltire to the game then, nobody would harass you.

I'm waffling now because I'm * but the original point stands, the match going support deserve our backing, they aren't making these points for the sake of it.

no money would have went to UEFA - all ticket money goes to the club.

It does depict a message - it shows they disagree with their organisation and their recent ruling.

I am more concerned with the viewpoint that the away support are immune to criticism, or more specifically anyone who is a "fellow fan" is immune to criticism just because they are a fellow fan. It's a mindset that I am slagging off more than the banner issue, which people are entitled to have views on. My personal view is that it's so juvenile that it was entirely unnecessary, as some people have suggested a more meaningful banner might have more impact but it's about as thoughtful a retort as kids at primary school saying "you're gay".

Also the bill isn't being decided by UEFA, the day after the bill was passed I would have thought that the bill would have been the issue to criticise rather than UEFA fining us a relatively small amount for an inane chant that most of us are happy to do without.

why try and twist my words ? the same fans would still have went regardless if celtic where sitting bottom of the table on 0 points,

Point im making they are not rich "only here for the party" fans, they are celtic supporters and ones to be proud of instead of calling for the heads for a banner which states what alot of celtic fans are feeling at the present moment

tbh it seems to me you just thrive on arguments on this forum so don't bother expecting me to rise to your bullshit again

Would a more meaningful banner not have attracted more of the right kind of attention, but still got the point across?

It's football, not rugby.... your hardly going to see a " I disagree with UEFA" when "* UEFA" has the same affect

Such as? Slogans are designed to be small and to the point. It conveys the message in a simple manner.

I was responding to a fellow poster being "shocked" at my post, with a little sarcasm!.Should i take the flak without responding?
If you had read my last response to you, you would have seen i had pointed you in the direction of the red triangle in the top right of the post to complain about someone, or their post.

It was an effective banner. Put it this way - it was done for attention I'm assuming? How many posts have you now made on the subject? Now ask yourself if the banner wasn't effective.

I didnt twist your words at all.You said my comments were "shocking", and i really dont see how!

I also made the point that they could have spent £500 or £2000.I didnt say they were rich i said they chose to go and spend their cash.Yes they follow come rain or shine and we all love seeing them represent the club, but they still have a good time and go of their own volition.
Just because they have travelled abroad does not give them carte blanche to say what they like when representing the club.I dont want them hung drawn and quartered, i just disagree with the banner.

Well i see your point, but needless to say i disagree.I think us arguing among ourselves is not exactly the kind of attention they sought.I do personally think nothing will happen, but i do think negative publicity is the last thing we need, when Rangers are on the run from the world, in every way shape or form!

Personally I feel that I couldn't give 2 * what the media or the establishment or UEFA say or feel about us so I don't care if it is negative publicity - no matter what we do we will have negative publicity so why bother changing how we feel to suit them?

Fair enough, but it's still Uefa's league, their event.

They disagree with Uefa, good for them
