    Any need for that chief?

I have plenty of brain cells kid, I just choose to back the very people who are paying to go the match and be harrassed and have their overall enjoyment of the game ruined by over zealous police and stewards.

Believe me, they will only take so much and then they'll leave the game, and that includes all teams than Scottish fitba will be * totally.

    Absolutely.

The whole current trend of clamping down on chants at football matches displays, in my opinion, a fundamental ignorance of a valuable social role played by sport. All societies that I can think of have some kind of release valves: certain times, festivals, or events which serve to allow people to let off steam - and say things, or behave in ways, which would not normally be socially acceptable. In our society, the football is the main one that I can think of.

Clamping down on what people can say, do and express at the football will be socially counterproductive. Far from decreasing sectarian tensions I believe that, in removing the pressure-release valve, it will make the situation worse. Which, no doubt, will be interpreted by the authorities as proof of the need for even stricter clampdowns etc etc.

    Misguided.

    Is that not just trolling?

I dont know how to use the report function but MGM hasn't been in Celtic Related all night and then turns up to flame a poster who is a little bit heated as it is.

Not quite sure exactly what "trolling" is, but the guy slagged off another poster by mocking his spelling, and i merely pointed out the flaw in his post!
I havent contributed pre-12.30 as i was oot.......but i have made my feelings on this particular thread abundantly clear i would have thought. There seem to be 2 schools of thought, and i am clearly sympathetic to one of them.

PS....press the red triangle and take it from there.

And please spare us the "how dare you criticise a fellow fan" pish, some people can take the green specs off and call things as they see them. And whoever thought this banner was a good idea is a *. The idea that anyone who disagrees with any section of the away support just because they spend money to go to games (as though that grants them some kind of higher intellect or makes them "better fans") is an "apologist" is laughable and just displays a lack of any ability to form your own opinion.

Aye, and the guys who travelled are tremendous representatives for our club, they always are.

The self loathing from the usual culprits is tiresome and stomach churning. I can't believe so many of our own are willing to stick the boot into the match going support nearly every single day on here recently.

The support which we have is an asset to the club, it's something to be proud of rather than slated and ridiculed by our own, we already have thousands upon thousands of people doing that. Who needs enemies when you have spineless apologists like that purporting to support the same team as you.

Calling a fellow fan a '*' because his opinion, an opinion shared by many thousands or football fans around Europe, just because you don't quite agree with it is a disgrace if you ask me.

Honestly, it's hardly the crime of the century - no one ever went mental at the '* the SFA' chants - what's the difference exactly? Freedom of speech is acceptable and it shared the views of a lot of fans.

100% agree - I genuinely believe if fans of them had unveiled such a banner then some of the people in this thread would have been less critical of them than their own.

    Read my post below please.

I'm not a regular attendee any more, because I have a family including two boys who I wouldn't dare go to the match without, so I can only afford 2 or 3 games a season.

what I said wasn't a dig at people who don't go, it was at people criticising the ones who do go, who will be most effected by this bill.

Do I think we should drop "UTR" from Celtic Symphony? Yes!

Do I think the banner was apt because UEFA are * hypocrites? Yes.

Did I say I disagreed with the opinion? And I think either you missed the point of my post or you're just being wilfully ignorant. I don't care if someone is a Celtic supporter or not, if I think they have behaved like a * I will say that. I can accept that's not a popular opinion on a Celtic fans forum, a bit like going onto a band's forum and saying you hate one of their albums, but I can live with that knowing full well I don't think any less of the club or the fans as a whole and I don't need my support for Celtic defined by anyone.

I didn't attempt to define any fan of any kind, just fed up seeing people on here put the boot in to their own team and fans. Far, far more embarrassing than banner or chant if you ask me.

What the * are you on about?

Of course they are there because they want to be there. They are there and they are always there as a great man once said.
