Delighted the way he's playing but lets win something first before we start talking about contract extensions because this is the same Broony that everyone wanted punted before the new year, 6 weeks great form since we signed him (l exclude the time when he had personel problems) does'nt make him a superstar. At the same time contracts should not be allowed to run down.

Remember when Gerrard first came into the fist team picture at Liverpool he was nowhere near the player he is now. It was only after playing quite a few games out on the right that when moved back into the centre he was a revelation and Benitez then saw the best of him. Perhaps the same will happen for our WINNING captain?

Since he came back from his operation he has been great,

I was never his biggest fan but at the moment he is playing great...

Never allow a players contract to run down so get him signed up ASAP...

As I've said a million times before, and usually no ones paid attention, Brown is not good enoungh to play in a 2 man central midfield, like he usually has been under every Celtic manager. This is why I've said before that we should punt him, players like Ki, Ledley, Kayal and Crosas are much better CM/DM players and we were getting nothing out of him except silly bookings and freekicks against us.

Having said that, if Brown is played in a formation that suits him like 3 men through the middle of midfield (i.e. at Hibs with Thompson and Buizelline or very rarely along side Hartley/Robson, NGuemo/Crosas) or out wide (where he has shone with Scotland) he is a great asset to the team as he has shown. If we continue to play him in one of these positions and he keeps up the good work then I'd love him to stay, but if we bring in a right winger and Lennons going to play him in the middle then I'd say sell.

He's been instrumental in our successful run & also significant that when we were dropping points he wasn't in the team.

Since getting him into his hard to fathom position - sometimes infield/on the wing, he has been * immense.

He has drive, aggression, swagger & real guts...he is a brilliant Captain for this young team - they really seem to thrive off such a young Captain & Manager combo.

It is easy to see that Lenny loves Broonie & Broonie has repaid Lenny in spades, as has Mark Wilson.

I think that Lenny's 1st priority in the summer after securing a good keeper, is to sign up Broonie & as Broonie is clearly loving it, that should be fairly easy.

What does The Hand think? Didn't he used to hate Brown? Gone a bit quite about him recently. :icon_mrgreen:

Like loads of us not been his biggest fan, but Lenny is definitely getting the best out of him, maybe sees a bit of himself in our captain!

Think he's excellent on the right and would be happy if he's dealt a new deal! :shamrock:

he's been finally playing at the level i still thought he could reach. his contract runs out in 2012, so i'd expect we would open contract talks within the next couple of months. i think he will sign on as he just can't get enough.

Irregardless of his recent vast upturn in performance, he should be given a contract. The reason being he does have resale value to the club.

I think his recent connecting with the fans has done him the world of good. Whoever has been having a word in his ear regarding his attitude has turned him around as a Celtic player. Moving him to the right has been another masterstroke, he has played his best football there for Scotland as well when you can fully use his ability to drive forward.

Ideally he would get an extension, but as others have said he's on such a high wage now and he might be looking for a significant increase which I don't think he's worth.

It's clear that something has changed in Brown this season. His attitude has improved and instead of running about the midfield acting as if he's a hard man he's actually playing with a bit of guile.
During the incident with Kayal and Diouf, Brown took Kayal to one side and asked him to calm down. This and his performance at Ibrox (\0/) show he's grown as a player and is starting to looking like a Celtic captain. I also think he's a guy who gets on with all the lads in the dressing room and Lenny regards him as his leader on the park.
I was not convinced by Broony, due to us spending £4.5M on him and whilst I appreciate that he's had a torrid time with his family circumstances, I did not see why we spent this much on him. This year he's proved me wrong.
If Lenny wants to retain him then we should sign him up.

sign him up, when he got back from injury he brought some dig and energy in the midfield back with him, we are stronger with him in our team.
