i see no reason as to why season ticket holders should get offered more than the seat they occupy in the league that alone is a reward for purchasing a season ticket

That's not a reward, that's giving them the least they deserve. A reward is giving more than the minimum they deserve. ST holders getting their own seat shouldn't even come in to it, that's just a given.

why do they deserve the seat? they purchase a ticket for home league games giving them first refusal on European and cup games is an added bonus

They deserve their seat because a) it's "theirs" b) they put a lot of hard-earned money into the club in tough times c) they go to every (home) game.

It would be an absolute travesty if they didn't have first refusal. It's not a "bonus". You buy your season ticket with the understanding that Champions League tickets will be made available to you first.

I'm a season ticket holder on the home cup scheme so I get my tickets no problem, but think it's shocking if it was true that people that queued for hours were turned away and told it was sold out, only for tickets to still be available on line hours later :38:

We all know that many season ticket holders do not actually attend every week ( for whatever reason ) so how about rewarding ONLY those who do turn up. Every season book holder gets to buy one ticket AND only those who attended every game get the opportunity to buy extra packages for CL games

I am 100% positive that the number of extra ticket applications would be very low ... therefore more on sale to general public. If season book holders want extra tickets let them queue along with everybody else... they already have a seat but they only have one *.

I am not sure that is fair either. If I am reading what you are saying correctly then if you miss one game during the season which could be for some sort of emergency and you forfeit the right to extra tickets.Besides from a business and marketing perspective I don't think from Celtic's point of view it is about rewarding people for going to every game it is about rewarding them for for paying their money up front and guaranteed before the season starts. Not saying that is right but that's the way I think it is.

This has tobe the most boring thread. Lets look at it. The only people that should feel hard done by are those that went to all 3 qualifiers. The rest of you shouldnt even be expecting a ticket.

A season book holder has put their money upfront. They get the benefits. It makes sense to reward those who are making the financial commitmemnt at the start of the season in what is basically a non event of a championship. We are going to win the legue. SO Celtic have to make season book holders feel special and above the average punter who feels like going to see the odd game but crys when they dont get a champions league ticket.

If you dont buy a season ticklet then you should be well down the pecking order for a champions league ticket.

:97: You don't think st holders getting first refusal on their seat should be a given?

Glasgow Celtic - A Club open to all ?

more like open to season ticket holders only.

one man one ticket ... what is fairer than that? (season ticket holders get first chance to take up the offer)

Allowing 4 per Season Ticket Holder has to be re-thought, it doesn't work.

I do agree they should have first refusal but it has to be done in a fairer way.

Glasgow Celtic - A club whose fans can get a ticket to 95% of games but don't bother their arses unless it's champions league.

I agree that 4 tickets is a bit much.

It would be fair to buy your ticket and one extra I think.

:50: And then get upset when they can't get a ticket for the big games because the people who made the initial investment are offered them first.

Again, I agree 4 extra is extreme, but even with just one extra they would probably have sold out and people would still moan.

I guess the club believe that people who come with current st holders that enjoy the games are more likely to get a st next year if they know they can go with their mate/family member each week.

I genuinely don't get the hysteria on here though, if you can afford £115 for three games there's a massive chance you could have got a season ticket when they were on offer, but didn't want to attend all the SPL games and now are upset because you've missed out on the massive games.

Every season ticket holder should have the right to buy one discounted packet for himself and 2 with the normal prizes. However this right to buy tickets first should only be for a couple of days. After that the people who attended a stated number of games should have the right to buy CL tickets.

Only if they go to all previous seasons games (discounting CL games).
If they reach say 80% attendance of league home games and 25% attendance away league games, should ST holders be allowed to have an option to buy all 3 home tickets.
For CL GS away games 90% should be allocated to ST holders from home and abroad and 10% to Scotland based NON ST holders. The rest should go to NON ST holders who live outside Scotland.
Of the 90% ST holders 75% should be made up of triple package buyers and the rest can make up their own.
For the NON ST holders they should have the choice to buy 1, 2 or 3 tickets but they must be bought in 1 transaction.

We should maybe change it to the way Ajax do it.

Ajax first sell tickets to Season Ticket holders(but only 1 for themself)
Then they sell them to Clubcard holders and Kids Clubcard Holders(again only 1 each) and then after than sell it to other Clubcard holders(cheaper clubcards).

So we could set up the same system.

Say you get a £40 Clubcard you need to buy once every 2 seasons and a £20 Kids Clubcard you need to buy once every 2 seasons. Then a some sort of 2nd rate Season Clubcard at £10 a season but you can only then buy tickets if there's any left sometimes if all season ticket and £40/£20 Kids Club card people buy them all then you cant get one but if theres any ever left then you can.

    So it'd be like

Tier 1 - Season Ticket Clubcard (Free it would be your season ticket)
    Tier 2 - Clubcard/Kids Clubcard £40 or £20 every two years.
    Tier 3 - Season Clubcard £10 a year
    Tier 4 - General Sale

You can only buy 1 ticket each.

Sorry but I dont see how thats fair either. So me being a person who hands over £450 at the start of the season get the same chance for CL tickets as someone who pays £40 every two years? There has to be this extra incentive for season ticket holders or everyone would just buy the £40 card and then choose whatever games they wanted to go to. I work away and miss close to half the games each season but still pay up. As someone said earlier, if you can pay £115 for 3 games, you prob could afford around £400 for 18.
