I might get slated for this but with his recent performances, barring the one he should have saved against Aberdeen, I don't think Forster has been poor lately. Going with this I feel it would be unfair to drop him, especially considering how well he played in the second half against Rennes.

I know what you mean about putting Zaluska in every now and then to keep his morale up but Forster has saved us against Rennes and in that league cup game kept us in it with some great saves to keep it at 1-0.
-
Forster will play against Rennes. He is Lenny's first choice no matter what. I see Man U are considering letting Tomas Kucszak leave in January, would be good to get.

And replace him with who? McCourt? Or Ki to partner Kayal in the middle?
Really???
Firstly McCourt is far too inconsistent.
Secondly Ki has no fight in him and we need to dominate the MF, particularly in these games!
Also Rogne deserves to keep his place after his performance on Wednesday night!
And whilst Forster may have been at fault for the goal Vs Rennes, he is still first choice GK at the club and has produced some great saves recently!
Other than that, not a bad team :icon_mrgreen: -

We played well in Rennes and fully deserved our point so i don't see much reason to change the tactics/team for this game.
Apart from the freak goal we conceded we were solid so i'd hope Loovens' hamstrings recover in time. Rogne and Maj aren't mobile enough and would get exposed IMO.
Joe Ledley at LB again for me. Matthews has impressed of late and should take his stronger positon at RB and have Ledley in at LB to give us a bit of balance.
Hooper - goal aside - didn't impress me much on Wed and still looks short of match fitness.
.................Forster
Matthews Loovens Mulgrew Ledley
Cha Du Ri Kayal Wanyama Ki
...........Forrest
.................Stokes
SUBS. Zaluska, M.Wilson, Rogne, McCourt, Commons, Hooper, Samaras.
Hopefully we have all the above players fit so we have good options off the bench. -

I'd go for:
Forster
M. Wilson Majstorovic Mulgrew Matthews
Forrest Kayal Ki Ledley
Hooper Stokes
I would like to see how we do in our stronges line up. We accomodate our lineup to other teams in fixtures like this, but maybe we have to bring out our strongest line up and dont be scared. Especially at home, with the fans behind the players. With our attacking skills and confidence from last game against Hibs I'm curious how this line up will do in order to accomodate our line up.
Was doubting about Majstorovic or Rogne. In the SPL I probably picked Rogne but this is Europe. Think we need Majstorovic with his experience. -
Got the agility and movement of an elephant and our defence is always liable to get opened up with im at the centre of it.
Maj should be played as a last resort.
Rogne and Loovens (if fit) should play against Rennes IMO. -

I understand your point but loovens and rogne havent played on a regular basis for a long time. That doesnt sound so promising for me either
-
The Rogne and Maj partnership is too slow and cumbersome for European Level IMO.
Even if Loovens and Rogne haven't played much together they are a better bet either with Maj. Loovens has aquited himself well in the games he's played in Europe this year IMO.
It wont be Loovens/Rogne anyway as Mulgrew will be back.Last edited by a moderator: Oct 29, 2011 -

Probably wont happen, but with Ledley and Kayal in the middle and Wanyama infront of the back four I reckon it would be solid. -

I'm going. Don't think it's anywhere near sold out yet though...
-
Will the game be on TV?
-
ESPN I think. I'm hoping it'll be a good atmosphere. Went to the Sion game and was a bit disappointed (can't really blame the fans though. Was a pretty lacklustre performance). If it's anything like the Udinese atmosphere I'll be happy. With hopefully a better attendance with it being at 8pm.
