    Aye but Greece sort of had to play like they did. Portugal have flair players and players of a much higher standard. They shouldn't have to resort to Greece style tactics.

    I remember them days when Portugal used to ball and play beautifully yet they failed to win anything.

    this year they didn't die in beauty, but weren't as ugly as some might suggest. they had plenty attempts against iceland, austria and hungary, but couldn't score to save their lives.

    against croatia, poland and france they played extremely smart and had their tactics spot on. it's a shame ronaldo was not on form, but then again, he finally did something people said he'd never achieve with Portugal.

    I think he's been excellent, eventually ran out of steam tonight, but looks a cracking young talent, very direct and full of energy.
