    Yeah.....they weren't unlucky.

France could have had 6 or 7 goals.

Not a hope he'd see it that way.

After a good Euros we have momentum going into the World Cup qualifiers and if we qualify for the World Cup he will probably be regarded similarly to Jack Charlton by Irish fans. A good tournament and he might even be remembered more fondly.

I'm not sure what O'Neills thoughts are regarding getting back to club management but I would say his age is even more reason to stick with Ireland. I think he was always going to want a crack at the World Cup even if we didn't qualify for these Euros. The way I see it is O'Neill and Keane is the best possible management team for Ireland and probably will be for a few more years.

Early goal for Germany is brilliant for neutrals! Had this down as a damp squid but could be alright now.

    Damp squid?

Really. The Irish were on their knees towards the end. A man down and not exactly fresh after the Italy game.

    In the second half aye..

Ireland were fully deserving of a half time lead though for me....possibly coulda been 2 up. France only really had a great chance in first half injury time but fluffed it like Ireland and Hendrick..

Not a bad first goal to score for your country. Really liked Boateng this tournament, usually gave him criticism as I always thought he was overrated but some of the balls he plays would have you thinking he's a natural centre mid and he's as solid at the back as anyone.
