Not just Croatia, Spain won't have an easy ride against them. They always sneak through in most annoying way possible, but go far after groups.

Pirlo is one of the best playmakers in the world, they have strong defence as usual, genius between the posts and quality strikers. Plus they always have luck on their side, so they have potential to reach semis, final even.

Spain will walk this group if they are on top form. Whether or not we qualify depends on how Italy react to this match fixing scandal. It could be another 2006 for them, this could make them stronger. They are still a very strong team capable of going far, being under rated on here definitely. If they struggle, its all up for grabs. We are more than capable of sneaking a win against Croatia in what will be a very tight game. Whoever gets 2nd spot will come down to goal difference imo

We will draw against Ireland, I even put a bet on it(I usually do not bet). No motivation to fight an unattractive opponent with full power. Then, if the fear of going out kicks in like in 2002., we'll fight like beasts to hopefully claw out a victory vs. the Italians. They never beat us. Against Spain though...anyone's game.

I'm not basing my opinion simply on talent, but also on circumstances as well.

Back in 2006 they were managed by Lippi, and that tournament was really a swansong for many of the established greats, such as Zambrotta, Inzaghi, Nesta, Totti, Gattuso, Del Piero & Cannavaro.

They have nowhere near the talent in their squad this time around, and when you couple that with their problems I can see them not doing too well.

Spain are due a disaster, Italy have gone off the boil and Croatia are slightly overrated, Ireland will stroll through to the knockout stages :)

I'm going to predict draws for both of the opening games in the group.

Our stats are crazy. Anyone writing us off this early is a fool.

Under Trapattoni we've lost only two of 27 competitive matches, conceding just 18 goals in the process. Only conceded 4 in the last 14 games, as well, of which we're unbeaten.

    Can't wait for the Euro's. :celt_2:

As I recall, we progressed out of our WC group in 1990 without actually winning a game.

Think we drew all three games.

Wouldn’t be surprised if that happened again.

They play for CFC just to reach the EPL. No love for CFC as deluded fans think

I have been thinking about this. I would like Ireland to pass the group, although I think Spain and Croatia will be 1st and 2nd.

Did three teams not qualify from a group in the world cup then?

Ireland are going to be brutal to watch, but I wouldn't criticise them for it, if they try and take on Spain they would get their arses handed to them, and on paper Croatia and Italy have better teams as well. Hopefully they can qualify, can't see it though
