Thanks Erik, just confirming that getting rid of you was the correct thing to do.

Seems like attitude was the problem all along, got dropped after the linfield game and never gave a * since. Oh well good luck beating the likes of AC Horsens and Hobro and then getting spanked off Teemu Pukki's team. 26 as well thought he would be a bit more mature than that, at least that ends the discussion of us 'needing him'.

    Shame that.
Would normally try defending him, but that comment does come across as sour as *.

I quite liked him but he's obviously not interested in challenging himself.

Huge perception gap! Truth is he's a very limited player..

Maybe it’s me picking up on something that isn’t there. But I always felt Erik was one of Deila’s favourites, and one of the first names on the team sheet. Which, more often than not was justifiable given that he was actually a decent defender on his day, and in comparison there wasn’t much competition for him to fend off. When Rodgers came in, Erik has probably felt like he’s had his nose shoved out and took the hump as a result. His attitude now does seem a major problem, which I can’t seem to recall under RD.

You can pinpoint the exact moment this happened - when he was dropped for Boyata.

True. Being dropped is a part of football. Any player that can’t take that as a reason to train harder and impress isn’t worth a place in the starting eleven.

When Erik first came in most people thought he was outstanding. Many (including myself) were touting him as a future captain.

His form steadily began to slide and he was making basic mistakes (eg. passed straight to the Sevco player on the edge of the box in the hogmanay 2016 game)

His attitude since being dropped has been a riddy, exemplified by that petulant wee post on instagram.

As much as Boyata isn't everyone's cup of tea, he's never spat the dummy at not being included. Infact Rodgers said it was the exact opposite of this and said he was coming in for late-night training sessions to force his way back into the team. If Erik had adopted this attitude perhaps he might've not been frozen out the way he did.

I only hope that we get a reasonable fee when he goes, as said above, he will never be at a bigger club.

Well I guess we should send Musonda back for doing the same thing on Instagram, he even un-followed his chelsea teammates, as for erik I only care if he is playing well, if he is then he will be a good backup when he comes back, if not then we will try to get as much money for him as possible

I dont get players who do that. Id still follow every guy id ever played with just to keep up to date with stuff. Its a bit strange tbh.

If Musonda did that, it's a little worrying to be honest. Still far less worrying in a kid like him than in a grown man like Erik, though.

Under RD things were so bleak at that moment so when Erik showed the slightest bit of form, and the fact that he was a bit of an FM legend, many of us just took to him straight away.

When Rodgers came in he was actually pretty decent for the first half of that season, him and Jozo showed decent form and he played in I think all of the group games where we showed better performances (Can't remember if he started in the Nou Camp but definitely played both City games).

I did really like him for a stage but he's went down a lot in my estimations and I wouldn't be arsed if he left now. All the talk of wanting to play in England etc when he is now been punted back to his old club in Denmark is cringey. Just get the heid down and work.

In fairness to him, I watched that game against the Huns where he made that early mistake only the other week again and he went on to have a very good game, and even made a potentially goal saving challenge on Forrester I think.

Yeah that was a decent tackle I must say. Rightly or wrongly he doesn't fit the athletic, ball-playing defender that Rodgers wants though, his days were always numbered. We really should have been looking for a permanent transfer in January.
