His 69 games unbeaten run would suggest to me he knows what he’s doing as opposed to guys shouting for the 5th choice centre half who can’t even get in a match squad to be playing as a massive over reaction.

I didn't say he doesn't know what he's doing. I said that when it comes to defenders, and the defence in general, he isn't untouchable. His Liverpool teams were leaky as * and we are always good for conceding a goal just about every single game we play. Hamilton midweek could easily have scored another 1 or 2.

Call it an overreaction if you want but it's a fact. Look at us just now, our defence is a * mess.

No one is untouchable, where are you genuinely trying to go with this?

Wait for the first defeat in 70 matches to start talking a power of * about a centre half the manager doesn’t rate?

Sviatchenko isn’t the answer and Jozo and Boyata being a couple of bombscares at Tynecastle doesn’t make a single bit of difference to that fact. Bringing up his Liverpool side even more so.

Where am I trying to go with it?

Think it's pretty clear. I said that with considering how * Jozo and Boyata have been playing for a few weeks, I wouldn't mind seeing Erik getting a chance. Hardly * outrageous yet apparently you have a problem with it. No surprise there.

You are, unsurprisingly, trying to use a defeat as a stick to beat our phenomenal manager with.

Erik Sviatchenko isn’t good enough, Rodgers doesn’t like him and he’s on the road out. So, aye, it is ‘* outrageous’.

For a while simunovic sviatchenko and Boyata looked like a good 3 to rotate with. Last season they were certainly more comfortable.

This season has been incredible though. None of them finding form and all looking like utter donkeys.
I don't think Rodgers' attacking mindset helps his defenders at times but regardless that can't be an excuse for the silly mistakes consistently being made.

I wouldn't say Erik is any worse than the current two but fact is we need better than all 3 on current form.

    Give Ajer a shot ffs.

    Nae danger.

Rodgers is a fantastic manager, but it doesn't mean he doesn't have his shortcomings. And a recurring theme seems to be that his defence is ropey as *.

As I said in my previous post, there’s not a man alive who doesn’t have shortcomings or is infallible.

You are scrambling like * for negativity.

Yet you fail to mention that not one single player in that defence is actually his.

They also have a donkey called Craig behind them that * could make Pique and Ramos nervous

I'm not. We've conceded 7 goals in our last 3 league games.

    That isn't scrambling, that's * blatant.

He's had 3 transfer windows to address that.

That'll be why he brought in Kolo Toure.

Or does that slip your mind also?

I fail to see your point. Kolo served a purpose for about 2 months then was pretty much never seen again.

You just said it yourself - today was our first choice back 4 and not one of them were his signings. His defensive signings have been Toure and Gamboa. The former helped us in the early stages of Rodgers' first season, fair enough. But he was always a short term fix. Gamboa appears once in a blue moon.

So after 18 months or so in charge our defence is pretty much the way it was before Rodgers came in.

Youd have a point if he didnt continually say hes content with the defenders he has

The same Kolo Toure who was so influential (both on the park and behind the scenes) that he came back this summer as a coach? Sure...

Also, you're totally contradicting yourself here by stating that Rodgers' players that he inherited are not good enough, but you want to see Sviatchenco - not even 6th choice play?

Ajer has done well every time he has got a chance imo. Deserves to get a regular run in the side.

Pretty ridiculous that in order to play the out from the back style that Brendan wants, the two best players most suited that are Ajer and Bitton. Both players who are midfielders that are getting moulded into ball playing centre halfs.
