I love him but hes * it. A move to copenhagen and a brilliant performamce in next years qualifiers against us is a stick on.
I don't care what any * says that wean he had * him here. He wants home.
It annoys me so much because i loved him at a time when it was tough to love anyone in our squad besides griff

Been my feeling for awhile now as well.

All the best to him and the family when they had the kid, clearly it took affect (understandable) on his job, but he has never really got back to where he should be for us. Perhaps just wants back home with his young family, or simply his head is elsewhere from football? Who knows.
But I agree, he ain't been remotely the same since then.

Would love to see him get another run and get back to his settled best, but seems that is unlikely.

    My thoughts too.

He's not a bad player but even minus his injury problems, he doesn't have the pace that Brendan wants.

See Sviatchenko has strung together the most consistent performances. Back under Ronny he was very consistent for a while - one of our best players.

I don’t know to what extent the same can be said for Jozo and Boyata.

Its the way we set up now with rodgers. We need speed to recover. Without speed we'd get split open with simple through passes.

A lot of people wrote Boyata off as a lost cause and he has come back and been a good player for us over the past 12 months. Sviatchenko is at worst a good back up and given the large amount of games we play we need at least 4 reliable senior center backs in our squad. But beyond that I for one have not given up on Sviatchenko being an important player for us going forward.

His Celtic career is over, not in the squad tonight and Nir Biton is the new backup CB

I think he is being roughly treated. Boyata and Jozo are having a * form, he has barely been tested this season, and can't even sit in the bench.

There was a point where almost tangibly Rodgers didn’t fancy him.

He’ll be away in January if an appropriate bid comes in.

ERIK SVIATCHENKO is set to exit Celtic in January, as Marvin Compper weighs up an offer from the Hoops.

Celts boss Brendan Rodgers hopes to tie up a £1 million deal for the Red Bull Leipzig defender after he visited Glasgow this week.

SunSport understands Compper was impressed with Celtic’s pitch and will hold crunch talks with the German club tomorrow.

Leipzig’s winter break begins on Sunday and the 32-year-old wants his future thrashed out quickly but Compper’s arrival would push Dane Sviatchenko further down the pecking order.

Celtic are willing to consider offers despite FC Copenhagen failing with a £2.7m bid in the summer.

Besiktas also had an August loan offer rejected, while several English Championship clubs are monitoring his situation as Sviatchenko hasn’t featured since returning from a three-month lay-off in November.

Celtic scout Tosh McKinlay also watched Dundee stopper Jack Hendry again during his side’s 3-0 win against Partick Thistle.

Rodgers rates the Dens Park youngster highly and is weighing up a January bid.

Not seen much of Hendry so can't comment on ability but he's 4 years younger and probably on a fraction of Erik's salary. If Brendan thinks it's good for the club then that's good enough for me.

The fact that nobody in our support will be that sad to see Erik go speaks volumes...and he can take his flat cap wearing, clay duck shooting pal with him if it's another £4-5 million into our coffers. Their perception of their ability far outstrips their actual ability in both cases.

Honestly, I'd give him a run over Boyata. If he goes, fine, but then we need to bring 2 CB-s.
