I can't see what others are seeing in that article? No part of it really strikes me as him wanting to leave sooner rather than later.

What he says makes sense but I have to echo what other posters have said in being disappointed because I thought he was one who really got IT, and would have been around 5 years plus.

Doesn't take anything away from him and we will probably get another solid 18 months from him.

More just the feeling I've had of him since late in the window. Apart of me was thinking then, with his agent's comments, that he'd want off..

I wouldn't say he quashed those feelings. Of course he'll say he loves it here etc, but the fact he's talking positively about those * club's interest, tells me different..

    I could be wrong..

I can see both sides of what people are saying here. He's just toeing the party line of a footballer though really. Let's not look too much into it and * pump this useless shower tomorrow and enjoy a few cold ones (or warm lemsips!) watching Erik's thighs do their stuff! :ynwacelti

I actually got the feeling he was saying the opposite. He mentioned its good to be linked with that league, not those clubs.
He wants to test himself at a higher level than us, and I think he will also continue to aspire to play in the champions league.
Not saying he will be going to arsenal or something directly, but a spurs would be interesting.

He is just saying things from his perspective. Look how quick a situation in football can change. Look at the team last year compared to this. I think Erik and the lads have had their eyes opened with BR. So it's fair enough for him to say he's happy at Celtic. And I think as long as that continues he will be here. At least for another 2 years.

"I hope to continue my progress here." How are people managing to jump the gun and say he's offski when he ended with that!?

I like Sviatchenko but the future of our defence is Simunovic and Ajer. He'll be here until Ajer is ready, another season or two.

You're right mate but rumours are rumours. Erik has been decent for us but if I'm being honest, he's had flaws that makes me question the truth in they clubs wanting him. I love him... Captain material after Brown if he keeps it up.

He's just not above us yet in my opinion.

Still sounds like he's in no rush to leave which is good.

ES on @ICTFC match: "It is obviously a place we want to win at and we will do everything we can to see if we can get the three points."

ES: "We have been very good lately so we want to do everything we can to keep progressing."

ES on unbeaten run: "It is all about the mental preparation and the approach to the game because every game will be important."

ES on drawing the last time away to @ICTFC "It will be a motivation because we want to succeed and we want to win."

ES on continued motivation: "We all want to be or are winners in some ways so you never get tired of winning games."

ES: "There is no better feeling after you have won a game, why we never give up and want to keep pushing forward."

ES on prospect of a treble: "Obviously a really big thing if it happens but still on the horizon & we are thinking one game at a time."

ERIK Sviatchenko insists Celtic’s appetite for victory will never be satisfied as target their 22nd successive league win away to Inverness Caley Thistle tomorrow (Wednesday). The Hoops’ incredible form has seen them establish a 24-point lead at the top of the table and avoid defeat in domestic football since the start of the season with 32 matches played.

And the Danish defender says the champions are determined to harvest another three points in the Highlands as they close in on a sixth consecutive title.

He said: “It’s obviously a place we want to win at and we will do everything we can to see if we can get the three points because we always need to be the team that needs to win. We have been so good lately so we want to do everything we can to keep progressing.

“We all want to be or are winners in some way, so you never get tired of winning games. There is no better feeling after you have won a game, and that is why we never give up and want to keep pushing forward and get as many points as we can at the end.

“Winning is a nice feeling and we have built something that we don't want to spoil it by not being ready or not thinking that it isn’t important to win every game that we can.

“It is all about the mental preparation and the approach to the games, because each one will be important. It is going to be even more difficult now because we have played so many games and we want to do our best so we need to be sure we are there.”

The only game Brendan Rodgers’ side have dropped points this season was their previous trip to Inverness back in September when Alex Fisher headed in a late leveller for the home side in a 2-2 draw. And Sviatchenko admitted the memories of that match will provide further incentive for the Bhoys in their quest to extract maximum reward.

“It will be a motivation because we want to succeed and we want to win,” he added. “Sometimes, in some games, you will lose points – that’s football – but it hasn’t been like that lately and we will do everything we can."

After sitting out Celtic’s 2-0 win over Motherwell, Sviatchenko was back in the heart of the backline for Saturday’s success against Hamilton Accies by the same scoreline, underlining the strength in depth in that department of the team. This doesn’t faze the defender.

“The competition has been great and it should be at a club like Celtic," he said. "That is why I moved here, to push my limits to play my best football. I think it is a natural thing when you play at a club which wants to win domestically and also internationally, so I am really happy that we have a lot of players showing their best qualities."

Looked a bit shaky in the highlights from Accies again. Bit too often lately for me..

I haven't ever rated him quite as high as most. At the moment I would say he is third choice, although it does seem to change fairly frequently between himself, Jozo and Boyata lately as they are all at a very similar level.

Boyata is becoming hard to drop, although I do still have my doubts and will do until I see him in high pressure game's..

Simunovic for me is my personal favourite of the 3. Cool. Quick and likes to push forward and start thing's off. Not rash in the slightest either..

Sviatchenko is solid as * and quality in the air. Problem for me is he's slower than the other 2, although his positioning 'usually' makes up for it. His distribution from the back has been a concern for a few month's now...where the other 2 are improving in that department..

Still happy with all 3 as they are different and compliment each other. Out of the 3 though, Sviatchenko has to brush up his idea's..
