It was a good game and it was a harsh result on Liverpool who had held it together pretty well given they had 9 men by the end.

At least in EPL they admit the mistakes, feel like up here it's just nothing to see here move on.

I was literally coming here to say the same.

Down there, the officials will actually admit to their * ups.

In the Scotland it is just avoided entirely and they stay quiet in hopes it dissappears... which it does... only for a new blunder to take over headlines.

Having watched the highlights, it's clearly onside. The first red card is a red for me as it's dangerous play (SKY making a big thing about it not being deliberate, but I don't think that's the point). Can't judge Jota's as I've only seen the second yellow, which clearly was a yellow, but apparently it was the first yellow that was harsh and I haven't seen that. :39:

For me the Jones foul is not a red card, in real time his foot goes over the ball first, it's not an intentional or direct contact with the players leg. referees should apply some leeway when coming to decisions, just because a player is hurt dosen't always make it a straight red card.

VAR is just a farce and can be used however anyone wishes.

Don't believe any were red cards

First red card was clear as day, studds up at the ankle. Second one, only saw the first booking but definitely a booking.

TBH, if one of our players did that in the CL, I would immediately assume he was off and wouldn't have the slightest complaint when he was. Maybe the only grounds Liverpool have for complaint could be that they are often allowed only a yellow in English and Scottish football; but for me, continental Europe has that right and we have it wrong, it's dangerous and one day a player will get his leg broken. Definite red for me.

From my POV, they've lost the plot down there. It's undeniably a truly awful decision; but there have been so many ludicrous decisions without all this brouhaha. For example, how is this one worse than Onana Craig-Gordoning a Wolves attacker in the box a few weeks ago? Or is it only "unacceptable" and does it only "call into question the integrity" of the refereeing body when a big club is the victim for once instead of the beneficiary?

In my opinion, this difference in reaction when a big club is the victim is one reason why referees who aren't sure always give the benefit of the doubt to the big club.
