Or if Hamilton had buried theirs and won 4-0 :smiley-laughing002:

It's not about how much money you spend it's how you spend it. We've not spent it wisely enough. That's just my opinion, everyone will have their own angle on it.

Instead we looked to big European teams for the dregs. Players with injury history who might get back to the level they were once at. Not the level they are at. By level i mean how well they are playing, no matter the team, with the hope being we'd have a happy group of players both on and off the pitch. A good team spirit - a camaraderie. This is what we had, this is what we lost.

We looked at the Belgian league, English Championship, we signed Stokes, Watt and Mulgrew from Scottish teams. It was working and we looked to progress. We tried to move up a level and we got players who just weren't in it for the jersey. They were in it for the money. Nothing wrong with that entirely, but when you look at the players moving down south - the biggest transfer fee we'd have had to pay would have been £3million.

Think about it. Robertson, Gauld, Russell, May. That might have cost us £7.5million but that would really be building for the future. A team that could stay together for a number of years.

We could then have added Mackay-Steven, who would maybe have jumped at a move where he had an understanding with ex-colleagues from United.

Now we are like a league of nations and it shows on the pitch. We're not building a team for the future, we're just trying to paper over the gaps. Stokes, Griffiths and Commons were ripping it up last season. Now we've got Guidetti, Scepovic, Berget and Wakaso, Denayer in defense and Ambrose making more mistakes and having so many options just simply makes the task of finding the best team more difficult.

I honestly can't see how it works, all that will happen now is players will want to leave because they've lost confidence being dropped for guys here on loan.

We should really have considered building a team for the future and we should stop taking so many risks on players who've not cut the mustard at other teams.

Should also apply to the manager's position, which again, with him moving over and leaving his family behind is hardly the ideal starting point for any manager. I just think he was a cheap option and Collins came in first which is strange because he's more of a really good guy to be coaching kids, not so much the first team.

But they are all intelligent guys, hopefully they'll get it right, but i do feel Robertson, Russell, Gauld etc. would have really been the way to go, the fans all wanted these guys, we signed none of them and this is where fans feel a disconnect between what the fans want and what the board delivered. By that i mean one success for every 3 duds and no matter what you can't play six strikers at the same time.

We were insanely consistent in the league last season. That was not a regular season. I also fancy Dundee United to get over 70 points this season. If we continue in the same manner we may be struggling to do the same.

Broony slaughtered the players and he was on the park with Them,!!!

FFS A pair of eyes could see the players "collectively" were * against Accies. 15 "real chances and no goals" i dont really think Deila can be blamed for those missed chances.
I fear for the guy but like you said, watching it again, the players were * diabolical!!
There seems to be a bit of Heart as well as confidence missing at the moment.
    C'mon tae * Celtic :shamrock::shamrock::shamrock:

The biggest worry was Brown saying that he had never seen players hiding on the park like that before.

Doesn't exactly scream out that all the players are pulling in the same direction. It's starting to have a look of Davie Moyes last year at Man Utd in my opinion.

Yea dont think ive ever heard a Celtic captain say that about players before so i guess he (Broony) had his say in the dressing room too !
Hopefully they take it on board and realise what the jersey means that they are pulling on !
Know what u mean about the Moyes thing but sincerely hope your wrong

IF we continue the same way we will not get 70 points.(on target for approx 66 going by current form). I still want Ronny to be given time but its getting harder as the more time he gets the less time we have to win the league and losing the league is unthinkable.

We lose a game its the end of the world, Dundee United lose to Kilmarnock and they are still gonna challenge us to win the league and get over 70 points whilst we will struggle to :smiley-laughing002:

Didn't say they would be a proper challenge, in the 70's points wise in the league shouldn't be a challenge. If we continue to go as we are just now though we'll be making them a challenge. Motherwell got 65 odd points a couple of seasons ago and this United team seem more reslient than them.

It isn't 1 game we've lost by the way. 14 points out of 24 isn't good enough. Do you believe thay sort of form is good enough?

It isn't just one game Dundee United have lost either, in fact Hamilton, who beat us, are the only team yet to lose more than one game. A lot of teams this season seem a lot stronger than last season and they will all beat each other. No way will any one team break away from the rest and it will end up the same as last season with us a good distance in front and a separate little league below us.

The form just now isn't good no, but i'm not panicking about it because we've gone through this early season form and post European game form before more than once and that was under a settled manager who was allowed to bring in many more players per season than Deila has had the chance to so far. Last season we were consistent in the league but we got absolutely horsed in Europe and humiliated in one cup at home and knocked out of another at home, it wasn't exactly the perfect season was it?

I know we only beat them 6-1 and look how * we are and how * and clueless our manager is. But United will be a challenge.

It was the same last year with Aberdeen, and in the end, they couldn't even finish 2nd.

This forum just goes round and round in circles every year. Let's face it though, people wrote Deila off after about two weeks in the job and those people will latch on to everything negative that happens without considering the wider context and looking to history to see that this isn't the first bad start to a season, or the first time we've struggled after European games. Those people are also still noticeably the most vocal in their criticism of Deila.

This is the worst start for 16 years. It's not a usual occurence.

The funny thing is, I would still rather be in the position we are in this season domestically, than at this stage last season.

If we had beat Hamilton it would have been identical to two seasons ago, its not exactly huge margins is it? So many things have changed in those 16 years as well that those kind of stats aren't particularly useful, again, just throwing out stats and ignoring any contextual issues what so ever.

After 8 games in 2011 we were 10 points behind the Huns, what a great start that was.

In my opinion what is wrong with our fans is too many of them only started watching/supporting/moaning about Celtic in 2000-2001.
Expect £6million players, steam rollering teams coz they are wee diddy teams and UEFA Cup finals.

These people are now in their late teens/early twenties and have now found the internet.
    Let's all ADHD!
