I would agree most managers of 'bigger' teams will perform a positive move but still have the basis of a defensive formation in mind just incase of slip ups i honestly think fergie is different and just goes all out attack. A '* it' approach all or nothing and most times it pays off mancini will replace nasri for dzecko or milner for ballotelli fergie will happily take a defensive minded player off and put on hernanades. Today was different fergie took off toni v which baffled me but then again after the match maybe proved he lost the plot.

Actually I prefer Mancini's way, push Yaya Toure further up the field and tweak the formation to a more attacking one.

Aye, was thinking that yesterday when they were talking about it.

They should have kept De Jong imo.....then Yaya could get forward a lot more or just straight play off a striker.

I think he's waiting for javi Garcia to fully settle in before doing that.

So it's be Yaya infront of Garcia and Barry.

    He's a bit of a * himself in fairness.

Didn't he write a book slagging off other Premier League players after being in the league for a few months? And threatening to "knock out" Suarez I think as well.

One of the most underrated centre backs perhaps....imo the most underrated players are Osman, Friedel, Carrick, Nzonzi and Zabaleta.

I have to say that i cant believe anyone actually is defending Williams. To me he clearly knew exactly what he was doing. When someone is that close to you on the ground on front of you.....you dont kick it like a thunderbolt freekick if you are just trying to clear it, you would put your foot under it for loft, but if anything, i think he nailed it with a deliberate outside of the boot for accuracy pile driver, and he hit the target.

I completely agree with Neil Lennons view of the situation.

Should have been sent off. Fergie's comments might detract from what actually happened but he definitely knew what he was doing and it was a scummy thing to do.

Nah, Friedel, Osman, Zabaleta and Carrick aren't underrated anymore, maybe they used to be but they get more recognition now-a-days.
    Anthony Pilkington for me anyway
