Arsenal working on deal to sign Lukas Podolski

Arsenal are working on a deal to sign Germany striker Lukas Podolski from Cologne, BBC Sport understands.
Reports suggest the Gunners will pay £10.9m for the 26-year-old on a four-year contract worth £100,000 a week.
Arsenal's Per Mertesacker, a Germany team-mate, said Podolski has asked him about life at Emirates Stadium.
He said: "He has sent me a number of text messages, and I have told him this is a great place to work and Arsenal are an amazing club."
Cologne manager Stale Solbakken admitted last month he could lose Podolski to Arsenal.
Big-spending Lokomotiv Moscow and Anzhi Makhachkala are also understood to be pursuing Podolski but the striker said recently that money was not his prime concern.
"Money is not the most important thing for me," he told German newspaper Sport-Bild. "What is crucial is the development of my game."

Sorry mate ou'll have to try harder than that...lol. 1st game was a pretty much meaningless precursor for what was to come. 2nd game we humiliated them by handing out the heaviest defeat in their history. 3rd game, including a joke of a decision to see our captain sent off, we played them off the park for the majority of the game. Do you honestly believe that constitutes them having the upper hand? I can tell you for a fact now that no one else believes it... no matter how much you want it to be the truth

 

Podolski has been excellent this season, i reckon he's a good buy

 

Podolskis a brilliant signing for them. If they had a front three of RVP, podolski and chamberlin thats brilliant for next season

An absolute monster of a midfielder is required for them to take a step to the next level.

I think Van Persie will sign a new contract, under insurances that money is going to spent.

 

This, excellent forward line is great to have but without strong midfield it would be the same story next season.

Don't think Wenger will spend much on one player, as usual. If he does however I think it will be Hazard, Gourcouff or some talent like that.

 

If they got Gourcuff and Podolski and sold nobody that would be great business.

 

Gourcuff has been * for a while now, would be surprised if Arsenal signed him.

Arsenal need much more than Podolski and a midfielder - That's for sure. Complete overhaul is needed.
