London has a population of 8,300,000 and out their teams Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham, QPR, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Charlton, Millawall, Brentford and Leyton Orient they average at home among them 274,000.

Compared to Glasgow where the population is 600,000 and Celtic, Partick Thistle and Sevco average 95,000.

15.6% of Glasgow go to football games, compared to 3.3% of London.

So would be right, if you were from Glasgow you are about 5x more likely to meet people who attend football matches.

The worst one ive met was Welsh, spoke to him going to Amsterdam a couple of years ago. He was from Swansea and said Swansea were his local team who his family supports so he supports them but his main team are Man Utd but since he lives between London and Belgium he mostly goes to Dortmund games now and has a Dortmund season ticket... this was 2 year ago.

Clearly a mad glory hunter who adpoted other better teams cause his own team were *. If Swansea were still pish at the time he probably wouldnt even have mentioned them.

Ofcourse it is I would even deem a club like neecastke to be a small team they are not a big team because of there stadium and they only have one team in there city!

It's laughable if you go even smaller like you said derby etc there * think because they have took on the epl top 4 and won or maybe drew a game they are invincible

The whole we would win the spl and celtic would struggle in leauge 1 makes me laugh like * too because I know for a fact if you reverse these the money situations would be totally different players would flock to us and teams like derby would not attract star players or "has Beens" and would be as normal as st johnstone up here so the whole argument they would win it is one lot of *! The same goes for us struggling!

Good stats ILTC would be great if you could have broke this down even further
Would love to know how many non Glaswegians clubs that actually travel to paradise on match day

Reason why I ask is there is a few buses that travel from north England on a regular basis that I know of and then you have Ireland so that Glasgow stat might be a lot lower

I remember in 2001 when I was 11 in Salou an older Newcastle fan said to be shearer was better than Larsson he even went on to say Kieran dyer was better than him and he wasn't even joking even at 11 I laughed at him said come and find me in 2 years time and say that and walked away

Wife and step daughter are English.
Wife, before she met me, had only been to one football match in he life.
Wimbledon v Liverpool FA Cup final.
She was 8 mths pregnant at the time.
She is now a Celtic supporter as is her daughter.
They both really want to go to a home Celtic match.
They were ecstatic when we beat Barcelona at Celtic Park.
When Watt scored the house sounded as if someone was getting murdered in it they screamed that much. :icon_mrgreen:

I'd say English Celtic fans are probably the most dedicated, passionate and strongest set of supporters we have. Not only putting up with * from EPL fans in England, but getting (rarely) * from Scottish/Irish Celtic fans who believe being English and a Celtic supporter is incompatible.

Same * in Ireland, people just can't understand why I don't support a team in the EPL, they just can't get their head around it for some reason.

I think Liverpool, United and Chelsea fans are the worst. They try and tell me how * our players are but I just ask them do they ever watch our games to form this opinion? You can guess the answer.

But like people on here have said, the more I've had to defend Celtic over the years the more I seem to love the club.

The most annoying thing about being the only Celtic supporter out of my friends is trying to get people to go to games with me, I wanted to go to the last game of the season last year for the trophy presentation, but didn't bother asking any of my friends because I knew they'd be too busy watching the last day of the Premier League...

Typically Newcastle fans are the worst, they think they're much bigger than they are and ride off Premier League success. A Newcastle fan once told me that Larsson and Nakamura were the only players from the SPL who he'd ever have taken at Newcastle. I got so much derision from him when I said Larsson was better than Shearer.

In the North of Ireland been a Celtic supporter was regarded by others as a political statement . Members of the security forces RUC B/Specials and Army seen any sign of a Celtic supporter as a reason for pulling in, searching the car and keep you sitting on the side of the road as long as they liked . We were deemed to be second class citizens .

Being a Celtic fan in England is very demanding. Most of my mates support arsenal and Tottenham and are constantly saying Celtic is a small club and our players are all *. I can't even be bothered arguing with them anymore, they don't listen to reason. Even after victories against barca, man u or Milan they still insist these results are just flukes.

I also don't get to see as many games as I'd like to, travel is just too expensive. I may be get to three games a year if I'm lucky.

    * of a lot less than used to. 2 of the clubs i used to travel with have packed in over the last couple of years. Of course people take different routes at different times but the clubs i can pretty much guarantee bumping into most games would be Leeds Wim The Tim,Barrow in Furness and Newcastle. I think there are a couple in the Midlands as well Coventry and Nottingham. Would be surprised if they didn't travel from Liverpool and Manchester as well and i think at least one club travels from London by train

It aint no picnic in ireland no either you get the general abuse 'oh celtic would be * in epl" and " the spl is * ". But they generaly shut up when you tell them that ive seen there team more times than them.
It was annoying though when we would always talk about premier league but would only talk about celtic in a general discussion after a champions league game or a hun game.

But another thing is that when I was in school up until I finished last year i was quite respected as a football fan they knew I was STH and atleast 1 person every week would ask me if im going over at the weekend to the game and then we would have a bit of a talk about celtic
