He has these weird lapses, Dundee united away he sprints to keep the ball in and kicks it to a united player and they get a penalty, Motherwell where he tries to leave it go across him and they score:56:
It's why he can be described by a liability and it's well know teams actually target him. Long diagonals and balls over his head are frequent when top teams play against us especially..

Weak link of our team , a decent right winger playing against has us * often , shaqiri tore him apart at parkhead , Salzburg one killed him aswell.

    This.

He had a great season last year, but more than any player his bad games are pointed about because there is no one to rival his position.

Couldn't believe it when Izzy crossed it into our own box... some of the * he does like that beggars belief, and I thought Gordon was going to burst a blood vessel screaming at him.

That said I'm sure he'll improve after a few games, not half as bad as some people make out.

That crazy moment aside, I thought in general his passing was awful. For the first time in his entire career here, I felt very, very uncomfortable with having him in the team - that bombscare/tebily/ambrose-type feeling.

Yip. His positioning was atrocious as well. Attacking and defending. I feel lack of decent competition for his place means he is getting complacent/lazy.

Relax, he had a bad game, but we all know he can play a lot better than that. He's a good player.

    He does need competition obviously.

    Hmm ok.
His bad games seem to come at the time when we need him to be on it. Inter, Maribor, Salzburg..... It's ok cutting it in the SPFL but he needs to get the finger out when it matters.

We need players to perform in these games if we are to get to the group stages, not look like they have just woken up and been shoved into the pitch.

On the other hand he was our Man of the Match against Juve in the last 16, was excellent Spartak away, Ajax at home, Elfsborg at home...

People tend to breeze over the good things he does, mostly because we're that used to it I feel. His crossing was awful last night but he put two in straight on Ciftci's head that he should have put away.

He did look very rusty though, the miskick into out box nearly gave me a heart attack.

Thought he was a lot better than Lustig last night though, can tell he's rusty as *.

I missed first half, can't actually say he was poor in 2nd half, thought all our good play come up the left.

Aye Lustig offered very little I thought. Also looked shaky as * on the ball.

He was in no way better than Lustig.

Izzy might have put in one or two decent crosses but he was a liability defensively for the entire first half. Lustig was competent at the back and barely put a foot wrong - minus giving away one or two silly free kicks.

We're sorely lacking a left back that can defend and cross the ball. Where are all the left footed Lustigs at? Injury free ones that is.

Izzy gets a lot of heat on here, but I agree with Devlin. Lustig offered us nothing on the right anymore than Izaguirre and both looked off the pace. I'd strongly consider starting Janko in the next game for a little pace and penetration there. We were poor in the wide areas last night.
