Well a positive way to finish off what has been a disappointing set of results in the group this season. I though we defended much better tonight then in any of the previous group games and that was the key that gave us a chance in the game and then obviously well done Commons for the brilliant header as we took advantage of Diego's stupidity. Extra bonus was hearing at the end the Ajax result meaning that they were out as well. That was my ideal scenario prior to kick off. Get a win or draw but Ajax still get knocked out

 

If we can get UEFA to adopt a handicap system we could make the CL next season
We keep Ronny and the opposition play with 10 men. We look quite good against 10 men

This is basically how I feel.

Scott Allan was the only guy on he park for us who looked like he could make a decent pass all night. Everybody else's play is so pedestrian and slow.

 

Highlight of the game for me was Tierney's late tackle that got him booked, a proper old school foul that was 100% committed to taking out their player!!

 

How that game ended 1-1 I have no idea, certainly had chances to win it as did Fener. Worst I've seen Bitton play.

I think Commons coming on had a bigger impact than Diego going off.

Tierney's tackle was amazing, thou shalt not pass

 

We were pish we struggled and if they didn't go down to 10 we wouldn't have got a shot on goal, powder puff display fenerbache are a poor outfit as well after blowing 20-30 million in the summer a was expecting far better.


On paper it looks as though it's a decent result but a thought we were poor again, although did like seeing the goal keeper coming for cross balls, usually he's rooted to his line so that's obviously been worked on, and the defense done well for a change, young Tierney,s attitude and determination is unreal, just need another 6 or 7 players who like to hide in these sort of games to get the finger out

Mind you I don't even know Turkish never mind be clever enough to attempt a play on words.

 

Celtic have been fined £10,000 by UEFA over the conduct of the team and supporters during their Europa League match with Fenerbahce.

UEFA's control, ethics and disciplinary body charged the Scottish champions after their supporters set off fireworks during their 1-1 draw at the Sukri Saracoglu Stadium on December 10.

Celtic were also charged with improper conduct after receiving five yellow cards, with Mikeal Lustig, Dedryck Boyata, Jozo Simunovic, Kieran Tierney and Stefan Johansen receiving cautions against Fenerbahce.

These UEFA * should be challenged about the fine.
So many European teams use flares and fireworks in their matches especially Turkish and Greek teams yet * all gets done to them.

 

How do you know nothing happens to them,its not like a clubs getting fined in Italy or Poland ect will be on the BBC news or even sky news.

Some of these club break so many rules i doubt they even tell their own fans about the latest fine.

Clubs would not stand for some being fined and other not fined.
