Efe Ambrose

Efe is quality and I'm one of his fans, but he's defensive heading is letting him down in a big way. I can't remember seeing a CB lose so many contested defensive aerial balls.

That being said I rate the guy highly and he is probably the most exciting Celtic player to watch at the moment, except when forrest or Sammy are on song.

 

I think that's something he has really improved on this season actually.

 

I agree he has improved that side of his game. This year he's gotten away with it more though and hasn't been punished as much, testament to his recovery and having the quality of Van * beside him.
I hope we can keep these two together for a long time.

 

I know what you mean. Virgil seems to love a physical battle though and will go up for the headers with Efe dropping deep to sweep up any lose balls. It works well and brings the best out of both of them.

He's one cool cat, I love him.

 

I just haven't seen a player like him who can literally skin an entire team just by dropping the shoulder or faking to pass. Its brilliant, maybe at the top level in the CL they just don't expect a defender to have that kind of ability, but his ability to make opposition players look like idiots is fantastic.

His ability stops at the edge of the opposition box though, every-time he goes on a mazy run and gets to the final third you can tell he isn't used to being there. Its something i think we should take more advantage of though.

The finish reminds me of the guys at school who never played football but had to during PE and could only toe punt-scoop the ball. Absolutely no control over the shot Amazing run though and got a good ovation for it!

I'll never understand why those aren't penalties, so he got his shot away, that doesn't take away from the fact he was cleaned out?

If he had taken a touch there instead of shooting it would have been a penalty.
