Was great today, that run and that bit where in our box surrounded he just made a slight movement and fooled everyone then strode out the box with it like it was no bother 99.9% of defenders would have panicked and sliced or skelped the ball in whatever direction they were facing, Efe acted like he had 2 hours to make a decision. He only signed 18 months ago and has probably skinned more players than any other Celtic centre-half whos ever played for us.

I seriously cant think of any other centre-halves ive seen anywhere who have the ability to dribble as good as Efe, his touch, quick feet and just movement on the ball are too good, he is able to take the ball on either foot and just glides at speed when running. Him being relaxed as he seems adds to his ability as well as he doesnt panick no matter how many people are near him or how little space he has.

I picture him just being permanantly like this off the park

Same, at most game I just sit waiting hoping he goes on more runs. He beats players so easily he should be able to get atleast to the edge of the oppositions box everytime he gets on the ball - Lennon should encourage him to go the whole way more.

Him and VVD have been our best players so far this season.

If by this you mean he is one of the best dribblers of the ball from Centre Back in Europe, then I said something similar a while ago and got ridiculed :52:

Id say the same, not that he was one of the best but he was actually the best that I know. David Luiz is the only other one I can think of that tries to take players on as much as Efe but I would say Efe has more smooth and silky ball control and can drop the shoulder and fool players easier. Apart from them I can only really think of Thiago Silva, Sergio Ramos, Pique and Hummels. Thiago Silva and Ramos arent as tricky as Efe or Luiz and Pique and Hummels dont have the pace.

He gives me the same joy as watching Paddy McCourt, when you know your just watching a natural fooballer.

What's weirder, I think, is that he was a Nigerian lad toiling away in the Israeli Premier League.

Is that a normal breeding ground for African players?

I think a lot of Nigerians do go there, dont know why though I think Yakubu came from there, the keeper Enyeama, Efe obviously and that other one we were linked with who plays for Efe's old team. Must have not bad knowledge of the Nigerian League or youth teams. The Nigerian 2nd choice keeper plays there too and Nosa Igiebor of Real Betis also played there.

Infact only Ghanaians and Brazilians outnumber Nigerians out all the foreign players in Israel.

    Yes he did.

I'll tell you another thing, anytime he is on the ball (say 20 or 30 yards out) and you can tell he feels a mazy coming on, the crowd sense it and encourage him :smiley-laughing002:

    I'm not picky.
Played yet another blinder yesterday. Would have loved seeing him get a goal after his brilliant dribble through the Aberdeen defence too. Thought he may have been in for one of those days after giving the ball away within the first minute or so, but glad to see another excellent performance.

Him and van Dijk have gelled really well together too and hopefully it'll continue.

Oh, I know there's a great deal of Nigerian-born professional footballers, I just mean ... I find it strange there's a fair decent of them playing in Israel. I wouldn't have thought that, you know? That's all.

Great yesterday. Almost shat myself when he beat 4 players and was 1 on 1 with the goalie. Would have been the goal of the season! Love the big guy.

Still only a * David Luiz though :50:
