How/why exactly would Lawwell be preventing anything? It's up to Brendan to sign players. The budget he has to do that will be the same as it was when he signed. He's just waiting to get the right players. We need to be patient with him.

Efe was not at fault for the Maribor goal. He was not solely to blame for any of the Malmo goals in each leg.

 

I've not reviewed it but if I remember Maribors goal strangely looped way up over Gordon's hand and in and if you watch efe is pulling the big guy back therefore he was leaning back scooping it up! Also I believe that night Maribor didn't really look like scoring with Lustig on the pitch perhaps just coincidence but we concede goals in big games when he comes on for instance Aberdeen 2-1 late free kick given away by Ambrose from which they scored and Ajax 2-2 late free kick given away by Ambrose also for Malmos 3rd he was the one who got skinned on the wing and that's why Van Dijk had to put it out for a corner okay our defending from the corner was shocking but still if he's solid it just doesn't happen.

 

He only played for 10 mins over the 2 legs vs Malmo.

& only played in 1 of the Maribor games.

 

Your losing it if your actually going to blame one player for the club losing out on £22 million. Win as a team, lose as a team, it's as simple as that. Efe might not be an effective player for us at times but to place blame solely on him for poor results is embarrassing.

 

It's a bit of a stretch blaming Efe for the Maribor goal. Izzy's clearing header went straight across the box causing mayhem.

Also I think the Ajax game was turned when Izzy got a red card because he lost the rag. The whole team felt it and you could see it. Giving away a free kick is not good but reducing the team to 10 men is much worse. Ronny should have subbed Izzy before the second booking as everyone could see it coming.

Malmo showed us we need to sort out our defending at set pieces. Blaming Efe for causing the corner to be conceded and therefore the goal is also a stretch imo.

I'm not saying Efe doesn't make mistakes, of course he does but to say he cost us £44m is a bit harsh.

I blame the team and management for the lacklustre performances against Maribor and Malmo which cost us that money.

We did get money for playing in the Europa league twice though so we'd have to deduct that.

 

I'm just saying he was part of the problem in conceding all of these goals
