Certainly hope he starts on Sunday a good game will give him massive confidence. In saying that when he is confident he does mental half way line dribbles so maybe not.

He's not strong at all for a guy of his size and is poor in the air for a guy of his stature too. Come on now.

    Big 50p heid.

I'm just waiting for his next * up then everyone will be in this thread slating him again. It's only a matter of time. I've seen this thread go through these "He's quality" stages too many times now for it to be a fluke.

He's not "class" or "quality", lets be perfectly honest. At his best he is a decent defender.

Ideally I think we will be looking to have a first team back 2 of Sviatchenko and Šimunović.

When both are fully fit and able to play.

You're just waiting for his next * up? :smiley-laughing002:

How about enjoying his "he's quality" stages while they are here instead of waiting on his next * up.

You are the same with Forrest too, which is funny because you refuse to give Forrest any credit even though he has been kicking GMS's * all season.

GMS has a couple of good games and you are banging his drum.

    Mental.

The stand out game which will always be for me with Efe was the 2-1 win over Barcelona at Celtic Park.

He was outstanding, everything was simple and booted into row Z when need be.

Maybe Celtic should get a copy of it to him, for him to watch and take note of what the did that night then actually apply it in every match he plays.

Too often he'll get fancy (maybe over confident) and that's when the * hits the fan with him.

I am waiting on his next * up, aye. Because it's inevitable. Doesn't mean I'm not happy for him to play well, I just see it as a small purple patch. There is a reason we brought in another CB, we need better in that area.

I've not been 'banging the drum' for GMS either, I've posted once or twice in his thread since he's returned saying I rate him higher than Forrest on form. Nothing about him being better this season.

I won't band the drum for wee jimmy Forrest either though because I don't think he is anywhere near consistent enough and contrary to what many have said, hasn't been terrific this season. He's still not scoring or getting enough assists. It's there to see.

There are few Celtic players I really can't take to and these two are the pair just now. Always have been.

This . Where the * has that myth come from ? He has had the odd decent game but has not been anything special and has shown no consistency .

Ambrose has proven he just cannot be trusted. He might be playing well for the time being but he is an accident waiting to happen, usually in important European games.

I'd be making every effort to offload him in the summer.

    I've not seen it.

I seem to be in the minority though who feels 2 assists and 2 goals from 26 odd games isn't good enough from our supposed best wide man.

Like when he was part of the defence that got us to the last 16 of the CL, something we can only dream of these days?

Sometimes I think people think we are better than we actually are.

He's not great but he has his uses and right now he is proving to be better than anything else we have in that position.

I'd rather Efe making the odd mistake in Europe as opposed to everyone we have just now making mistakes every * week.

Our progression to the last 16 was probably more to do with our ability going forward with the players we had at that time, especially away from home than it was on our defensive attributes. We conceded in every game bar the 0-0 home game against Benfica where if memory serves me right, Ambrose didn't play.

He's doing well at the moment but given what he's served up in the past I'm very sceptical of his ability to maintain it. Ideally we should look to move him on in the summer.

We can get away with it here that's the difference. We can only dream about last 16s or even last 32s of the EL because we have guys like Efe at the heart of the defence. Even against lesser Scandinavian teams, to see how much he struggled against them was extremely alarming.

    :smiley-laughing002: Love this guy.

Been playing well recently, but I'm sure most of his haters actually want him to make a mess of it.

Personally I hope he can tidy up some of his play and come back stronger.

I'm sure his stats show he's one of our better defenders, the problem is that when he * up he really * up!
