Eboue, Bayo, Arzani and Shved - 4 players who could all be massive surprise packages this year if given the chance

He's been with us for over two and a half years, and only played a handful of games, we're wasting a fortune paying wages to players who are not contributing to the first team.

Tbf he was just breaking into the side under Rodgers when his knee went.
Even tried to play through it.

At 21 he could still kick on and become a good player but to do that he needs regular game-time and right now that's a gamble that we can't afford to take. I'm still not convinced his style suits us. He's Bitton-esque in a lot of his play. Good touch & vision but square with his play, never likely to run by his man and prone to slowing down the game with multiple touches.

He's looked tidy and capable at times (eg. Zenit home leg in 2017/18) but at other times he's looked miles off it eg. Tynecastle beginning of 18/19 season or v Hearts in the League Cup semi)

If we could make our money back on him I'd take it but if it's going to be a nominal fee then I'd send him out on loan for the next 6 months with an option to extend, if he does well in that then we can consider his future at the club or increase the fee we receive if he's still deemed surplus to requirements.

Thought he was looking good in that Semi.. but aye a loan deal to a SPL side would work.

I was behind the opposite goal so didn't have a brilliant view of our half but I thought we were pedestrian in attack and open in defence with him and Ntcham in there. With Sinclair in for Kouassi after he was injured and Christie in for Ntcham we looked much better. Cut them open at will and barely gave them anything at our end.

I think an English League 1/Lower end Championship side would suit better as long as there was a realistic prospect of him playing 30+ games. If he showed up well down there and still wasn't in Lennon's plans then we could command a decent fee.

Christie made all the difference in that game..

I would rather he went to a SPL side, an Aberdeen or Hibs just so we can gauge if he can cut it domestically.

Aye, Christie changed the game. I wasn't impressed with Kouassi's showing before he went off though. He was atrocious in the Tynecastle game in August 2018 as well. Ponderous in possession and passive when defending, everything you don't want to see in a DM.

Was one of a few thrown under the bus by Rodgers that day in Aug.. wrong place to play someone who hadn’t played at that level in months.

Agree with that mate. Maybe I'm being hypercritical but if I'm honest I just don't see a long-term Celtic player in Kouassi. He's certainly not the Broony replacement that the rat signed him as.

PANATHINAIKOS are set for talks with Celtic over midfielder Eboue Kouassi, according to reports.

Greek website SDNA.Gr claims sporting director Nikos Dabizas will use a trip to the UK to talk to Hoops chiefs about a move.

The former Newcastle United player is reportedly meeting up with his old club and will use the trip to discuss a possible transfer for the the 21-year-old.

Kouassi joined the Hoops in January 2017 from FC Krasnodar.

However, the midfielder has struggled in Scotland with injuries and a lack of game time.

He’s made 22 appearances in all competitions since his arrival from Russia.

The midfielder is under contract until the summer of 2021.

Kouassi isn’t the first player the Greek giants have eyed up from the Scottish champions.

If it is true that we paid £3m for him, we need to recoup a significant proportion of that. If we can't, I would send him out on loan, and see if he still has a future here.

I wouldn't really be for selling him yet, i'd loan him out for a year and see where he is come the end, i think he'll do much better under Lennon than Rodgers.
