i always thought fringe players were kept ticking over by playing reserve games or development games as its now called

is that not the case ?

surely you cant have 1st team squad members rotting away on the sidelines losing match fitness because they dont get to play in the first team, that just doesnt seem right

that game against them thugs looked like his first actual match of the season and to say he was wobbly would be an understatement

Celtic have told Eboue Kouassi he is free to find another club before the window closes at midnight.

The Ivorian was signed by the Scottish champions in January last year for a fee of £3million from Russian side Krasnodar.

Kouassi has made only 19 appearances for Celtic, with his last game being in the 1-0 defeat to Hearts at Tynecastle on August 11.

The midfielder was told he could go out on loan last January – but has now been urged to look for a permanent move.

The 20-year-old’s departure has been hastened by the impending signing of Youssouf Mulumbu, who is expected to be confirmed today.

With Scott Brown also ahead of him, Kouassi had little chance of featuring again.

Moussa Dembele could also follow him through the exit door, with the France Under-21 striker agitating for a move.

Kouassi is contracted to Celtic until the summer of 2021.

I honestly thought he was going to be a great signing for us.

Whoever is doing our scouting needs * sacking. I don't get it.
At a minimum I think the fans deserve an honest explanation of the roles scouting, management & boardroom are playing in recruitment. It's about time the system was explained.

Never been good enough for me, maybe one token game he looked good.

Manager does not rate him and it’s time to move on.

    Deadwood.

Joke of a signing. * ridiculous, what a waste of millions. Looked more than decent last year, but must be so * in training that he doesn’t deserve a chance.
Makes you wonder what the * Rodgers is doing signing him in first place, or giving the signing the green light.

I thought he looked decent in games last season. Particularly pushed higher up the pitch again zenit at home. should have gone out on loan to an spl side last year like ajer had done

Another shambolically handled situation this window.
What use is it to tell him on the last day of the window? Would it not be more beneficial to loan him in the hope he improves and we maximise on the money we could get selling him?

Iv honestly no idea what the * is going on at Celtic Park anymore.
In my opinion Kouassi never had enough to his game to break the first team but this is again * hour from us.

We dilly dallied and missed out on mcginn, to sign a 32 year old free agent we knew about all along and who hasnt had a pre season or kicked a ball competatively and we are now at September.

Did we really just win the double treble?

This would be * stupid, he’s had far more good games than bad. Zenit game proved he has the ability to cut it in Europe, just loan him out for a season to Kilmarnock or someone and see how he performs over a season!
