    Here the whole time
But half a dozen appearances in 18 months on the back of a £3m transfer surely means he is a bit suspect. Particularly when the big summer transfer target would have essentially taken any of his future game time.

looked like a kid out there, wasnt ready! think this line up today was the managers best lineup whilst trying to make sure he had the best available for tuesday, understandable gamble

what ive seen and read about him was, that he was bought as a replacement for brown at a time when brown was looking as if he was on his last legs and had just quit international football, brown has had an incredible resurgence since then which has led to kouassi not getting much game time

still i think for us £3m has to have more games than 9 in 18months there have been plenty of chances to give him more game time and rogers hasnt for whatever reason

still a lot of money for a prospect, after our initial successes with wanyama forster van * we have wasted a lot on prospects hope this guy aint another

we do seem to be taking long shots gambles on possible successful players and not many are really working out of late

The criticism of this lad is way over the top. Why pick on him? - McGregor had his worst game in a long time - his only contribution seeming to be giving the ball away in dangerous situations, Hayes was woeful, Brown was average and Jozo (well let's not go there). Sinclair was probably the best of our forward players.

BR (rightly in my opinion) was protecting any chance we have of a result on Tue. It was a disjointed team against a team of dirty *** who should have been down to at least 10 men.

We have seen Kouassi play really well - we still don't know if he can do it consistently. To judge him on the basis of yesterday while ignoring other players who were at least as bad or worse is frankly stupid.

Perhaps he does need to go on loan and get more first team experience - however, I still think he could be a player for us.

He was constantly wanting the ball and trying to play long balls out wide. They just weren't coming off for him due to hearts tactics, as much as anything.

Can’t judge this lad on a single performance when he’s being thrown in deep end randomly. He played well against Zenit and Hearts at home last year so we know he is capable.

Unless BR plans to give him a run in the team or regular game time from bench, to let him build up some confidence and momentum, then we should loan him out to Scottish or english chanpionship team until Xmas.

Quite hard to see why we have spent 3 million on someone who is clearly a long term project, when we need to strengthen in key areas

Another chunk of money people seem to forget about when discussing how the board back the manager

    You have a point. I think partly the reason we have to strengthen so badly is because of the money Brendan has unwisely spent;

    Eboue - £3 million
    Gamboa - £1 million
    Compper - £900k
    Hendry - £1.5 million
    Hayes - £1.5 million

All of the above have been poor/questionable signings.

Eboue - according to the accounts was around £2m
Compper - apparently was a freebie according to David Friel
Hayes was £1.2m of which we got £200k back for GMS.

You have to continue to strengthen tho, BR has generated a lot of income for the club since then, the clubs failure to back him especially in this window has been an absolute disgrace.

It would be unfair to fully judge him based on Saturday's performance as the whole team pretty much sucked donkey balls. However I am surprised he has not gone on loan anywhere. In a season and a half he has had little experience, last season he really should have been on loan so he could have come into our side.

Maybe the plan was to send him out on loan after the McGinn deal went through, now we need him as cover.

We didn't really need him last season when Paddy and Armstrong were here.

needs more game time before being thrown in the deep end against hearts away tbh, yes he does train everyday with the team but you can hardly compare training to proper game time. Needs to be loaned out if we are only going to play him once every 10 games

Would be wrong to write him off after 1 poor game as there were another 7 or 8 better players as equally as poor on Saturday. I put Kouassi in the same bracket as Ayer. Clearly talented enough but at this stage of his career needs regular playing time. A spell at Hibs or Aberdeen would do him wonders as Ajers at Killie.

This odd game in 10 along with injury, illness and minimal English won't help either. Still plenty time for him and would have no problems with him in the first 11 again but needs more than he's getting currently.

Also against the hammer throwing mini hun * nuggets on a tight pitch was gonna be tough for him. Something he could learn about with less pressure at Hibs, Killie or Aberdeen.

    HH....

He’s been mostly good with what little opportunities he has had.

Don’t understand wanting to ship him out on loan, we don’t have much back up for Brown or Nicham.

I watched the game again hearts he didn't really seem up for it, had a poor game for me. However, have seen games that have shown he has potential. I think he needs a loan move and consistent game time, come back next season and hopefully be ready because I think there is a player here.

This. We don’t have enough cover to let him leave on loan. We play more than enough games a season to give him a fair amount of games.

The majority of the team were pish against Hearts. Actually thought Kouassi was one of the better ones although that wasn’t hard.
