Racing Genk has Ebou Kouassi in sight. The Limburgers would like to attract the Celtic player on loan with an option to buy.

Indeed, the Limburgers would be on the track of the Ivoirian Eboué Kouassi according to our colleagues from Het Laatste Nieuws . The Belgian champions would like to obtain a loan with an option to buy from the Ivorian defensive midfielder.

Eboué Kouassi, on the other hand, has not played a match with the Scottish champion this season. First injured, the Ivorian was then sidelined. Celtic bought it 3.5 million euros from Krasnodar in January 2017. Genk would see Kouassi as his replacement for Sander Berge in the long term.

    What a touch that'll be..

Beating Genk to the signing of Soro then shipping Kouassi to them :giggle1:

I doubt that he would want to come back here, having been frozen out for most of his Celtic career.

Racing Genk is about to strengthen itself with the Ivorian midfielder Eboue Kouassi. The 22-year-old Ivorian from Celtic was already at the club yesterday. The final details are expected to be cleared out this weekend.

I think it is actually next January so a year to run but not 100% certain it might be the summer of 2021. So either way he is in the last year of his contract or about to enter it at the end of this season.

Unbelievable that the first time we get him out on loan to a very decent club/level and he's about to run out of contract..

    Ridiculous..

Anyone able to confirm if this is a loan move that’s being Negotiated. What’s to say this isn’t a direct buy Genk have just received a pretty nice £10m for
    Mbwana Samatta.
    The cash is obviously there

Exactly the type of deal that he'll probably do well at, then saunter out the door for nothing.

Genk have done as well as us in their transfer model recently. Ndidi, Bailey, Milinkovic-Savic, Samatta.

As @McGuire says. Should've happened a long, long time ago. Criminal that we pay out millions then leave them rotting on the bench for years. We need to get clever.

This whole signing and the way we've handled him has just been a mess from start to finish.
