It would be nice if another 1 or 2 of the young boys in the youth team would show signs of breaking into the first team next season. It would take some of the pressure and expectation levels away from Dylan McGeouch and it would be genuinely exciting to see a Celtic team with 3 or 4 young players in it from our youth system.

I'm sure Watt will be there or thereabouts next season and, although he's not a product of our own youth system, Rabiu Ibrahim looks like another who will be involved.

Pretty sure George and Twardzik, barring injuries, would have been involved recently as well.

At no point was he the best player in Russian league, don't know who thought he was, but it's crap.

Reading the quotes, whilst they do praise McGeady highly, he never says at any point he was the best player in Russia - he said that there hadn't been many better than him.

It says he thinks he's one of the best, fair enough, but not the best. Also if it's only Kanchelskis, then it's hardly widespread opinion.

He had a very good first season, done well to get into top 3 wingers in the league after only half a season, but he was hardly best player then, especially this season he's not one of top performers.

Well it is only one guys opinion, just like we all have our opinion on here and he didn't say he was the best, that's all I'm pointing out. I just think McGeouch should be aspiring to be better than McGeady and I hope he is - McGeady shouldn't be the benchmark.

So far I've liked McGeouch but I'd say Watt looks a more promising talent.

For the 20 mins he was on he did well. Was tidy on the ball and took on a few defenders. I remember him biding his time and playing a clever ball through some defenders to the edge of the box when many lack vision would have passed it to the many options available side ways.

Hes doing fine and will be a big player for us once given a run. Hes done himself no harm in his performances so far.

Sounds strange but I don't think his goal against St Mirren has helped him in the long run as it has automatically raised expectations. He hasn't done much since then, still a very young lad who has a bright future ahead of him. We'll definitely see more of him next season. If Ibrahim turns out to be a decent player then it could take some of the pressure off of him which can only be a positive thing

Watt looks a more promising talent? i have watched them ages at 19s and i seen both of them playing at 17s... dylan mcgeouch is head and shoulders above tony watt just now and is definetly a better talent, no offence to tony watt as he done well against motherwell, but if you have seen any youth games you will know who is a more promising talent. No contest mate, mcgeouch everyday.

Watt couldn't lace McGeouch's boots mate. Thats like saying Oleguer looked better than Iniesta or James Vaughan looked better than Rooney or Davie Moyes looked better than Nicholas.

McGeouch and Watt are night and day.

Watt is a decent player who might do ok, also might make no impact at all. McGeouch is a player who has a great chance of being the best player in the League.

In the small amount of game time Tony Watt seems to be better adjusted for senior football.

because he is taller and wins headers? if anyone between the 2 is ready for first team football it is mcgeouch who as of yet hasnt been able to play his natural position.

Watt has become over rated imo and McGeouch under rated on the basis of about 100 minutes of football :56:

McGeouch would start for every other team in the SPL and be ATLEAST one of their top 3 players. Watt imo wouldnt get a start at any SPL team.

I agree mate! Watt is very raw just now and will be flying from his 2 goals at motherwell but mcgeouch is a cut above any player at youth level in this country and will show it soon, and mcgeouch is a first team player, Watt is a 19s player and will train with the 19s again soon. Mcgeouch will get better and better i think, i hope he can play his natural position his 2 feet are amazing.

I watch a lot of youth football. McGeouch * bosses at that level and well when he picks up a bit of experience at senior level.

Watt so far has took very easily to senior football at a younger age, his movement and build up play and no to mention his finishing has been streets ahead of Dylan.

No doubt McGeough will be better, he is far more talented but you are downplayin Tony Watt at his expense. At youth level Watt is no slouch either.

Youth level isnt that high a standard though, about 70% of the players in that League never make it as proffesional players.

Id rate McGeouch's chances of making it at Celtic 9/10 as theres a chance he could be * by injury, Watt i'd rate 3/10 partly because he's a striker and theres only so long like Bangura he will be able to go without scoring and partly because he is average skilled.
