Islam is younger and it is harder to play for Chelsea than Celtic! Dont make silly comparisons.

That's exactly my point. I doubt he'll break through at Chelsea, whereas it would have been easier at Celtic, especially as we had coached him for years. I think he has the talent to play for Chelsea in the future but they don't have a great record for youth production. As for them getting to the Youth Cup final, it is not the first time they have done so but still the last person to get regular games from their youth system is John Terry. Look at Man City, they won the FA Youth Cup the last time Chelsea made it yet none of the players that year have gone on to command a starting place because of the money they have. The same situation exists at Chelsea so I was merely stating that McGeouch is currently in a better position for his development. Hopefully as I am a Scotland fan I'm wrong and Feruz goes on to be first choice at Stamford Brisge in 4 or 5 years.

Was working tonight and couldn't make the game, but a couple of mates (non Celtic fans) said he was impressive.

I watched Portsmouth a couple of weeks ago and thought Scott Allan looked a very similar player, and one of them mentioned the same tonight. Allan is thriving in the Championship (out on loan) just now but I'd rather give McGeouch a try rather than loan him out.

would be surprised if he started tbh. Hopefully he gets a decent amount of time off the bench though, especially as it could be our last game against them * as we know them

While we're on the subject of the under 21's, we conceded a goal to a guy called 'Immobile'. He seemed fairly unmoved when he scored.

I'm not a Scotland fan but even if I were I could never bring myself to support a team with Feruz in it, the way he treated us was disgraceful and if half the stories I've heard about him are true then he is truly one of the biggest dicks around.

I'm convinced that McGeouch will go on to be a far better player than Feruz who imo wont make it because of his attitude.

highly doubtful considering he struggled to even get games for our under 19's last season, hes one of the most overhyped youngsters in world football atm due to the fact he played in TB's testimonial when he was 14 and the story surrounding his being allowed to stay in scotland. Don't get me wrong hes a good player as you can see by the fact that he was called up to scotlands u21's at age 16 but he couldn't even break into our u19 squad last season and wasn't a guaranteed starter for our u17s, although that might hav been due to the fact that he skipped training on a regular basis.

Feruz would have struggled to play for our u19s this year let alone our first team, he is a very talented player no doubt but is also surrounded by far more hype than he deserves. He arguably wasn't even the best player in the u17 class he was coming through with, Lewis Kidd is just as much of a talent imo. There is absolutely no way Feruz would have gotten a game this year ahead of the likes of McGeouch, Twarzdik, George(before injury). I'm not saying that he won't go on to be as good as those players but right now he is an inferior player. More likely than not he would have gotten occassional games for the u19s while playing his regular football with the u17s
