    He’s backup..

Would be criminal not signing a new no1 now.

Distribution was good, couple of good saves too. Could have been off his line a bit quicker once or twice but apart from that I can’t fault him.

At 37 being quick off his line probably isn’t in his repertoire..

Distribution was superb, couple of decent saves, but the one he let bounce in his six yard box was poor and worrisome.

Has to be said, goalkeeper is our most handsome position by a mile. Gordon and De Vries would both get the * boaby.

Should've been given more of chance earlier in the season anyways IMO.

Still hope we go for another keeper tho. Would rather keep Hazard out on loan.

Didn't we have an Italian keeper who was pushing for the 1st team position before DDV came in? Forget his name though... did we sell him? Loan him?

Distribution was excellent yesterday when he came on, especially one that he pinged about 25-30 yards out wide to (I think) Boyata.

Brilliant low stop from a McGinn shot anaw.

I'd be perfectly happy having De Vries deputize for Gordon, or until we go all out and sign a new no.1 if Craigy's days are unfortunately numbered.

BR: "It’s an unfortunate situation with Craig being out for up to 12 weeks. We need to have cover with someone coming in to support Dorus De Vries."

BR: "Dorus has been a very loyal number two, he’s been outstanding in his time here. He’s been very, very good in his recent performances. He has experience and is in great physical condition too. When he had to come on at the weekend he was calm, assured."

Would still like a new GK but definitely deserves his chance.

DORUS de Vries insists he is ready to play his part for Celtic during the rest of the season after Craig Gordon was ruled out for 12 weeks with a knee injury. The Dutchman came on at half-time against Hibernian on Saturday when Gordon was forced from the fray, and he turned in an assured performance to help the Hoops earn a 1-0 win.

It was his second competitive outing of the season, the other game also resulting in a 1-0 win, this time over Dundee back in October.

And while the 37-year-old will continue to support fellow goalkeeper Gordon during the Scotland internationalist’s spell on the sidelines, De Vries told the matchday programme that he's mentally and physically prepared to take over between the sticks, starting with tonight’s home clash with Hearts.

"We’ll give our support for Craig as part of the goalkeepers’ union, and that’s something that we’ve always shown,” he said in an exclusive interview.

“Like I’ve done throughout my career, I love the job that I’m doing. I love grinding it out every day on the training ground and staying mentally and physically healthy and in good shape. That’s all you can do. When called upon, I have to be ready. That’s my job. It’s as simple as that.

“Concentration is a big, big part of the job. That’s maybe the biggest part for a goalkeeper. You can to keep your concentration levels high. That’s what you try to maintain in training and it’s what you want to bring on as games are coming – you try to shift that towards the games. And experience also helps along the way.

“That’s why it’s a privilege to work with Stevie Woods who makes sure that everyone keeps focused every single day, and the goalkeepers’ union has to be strong because you all want to make sure that the guy who’s playing is sharp because it’s all down to one thing – the team.

“That’s the most important thing and it should never be underestimated, and that’s we, as a union, stay strong.”

Thought he was very good tonight. His distribution is far superior to Gordon’s.

His distribution is immense, especially when Dembele is on to bring the ball out of the air.
