Donati - The problem and the solution

He is a great passer of the ball, some of his cross field passing and through balls are superb, but he is NOT agressive enough, he doesnt do enough and i worry about him. At the end of the day its how he copes v the huns, and he is too weak, they would love it if he played, we need agression, kick them off the field again!!! HAV IT!!!

He's a bit like Jarosik in a way, very unpredictable and not reliable. But has the potential to be a good player

Get in Darren Fletcher, or put Lenny back in there.

 

He lacks confidence and Fight to play in that role. I watched last night and he almost never played a forward pass. I never seen him run with the ball when we were chasing the game. He HAS the potential to be a great player but it shows his lack of ambition as a player not to fight for his position in the team

 

Problem: Underperforming player.

Solution: Let him languish on the bench. He'll get occasional chances to prove himself again when we need to rest players or injuries; hopefully he decides he wants to perform at that time. If not, rinse wash and repeat with reserves.

I believe this is standard operating procedure, on about page 6 of the coaching handbook?

 

the guy has got to go along with sno........he wants plenty of time with the ball but you dont get that in the spl its to fast a game for him here cant beleive he was a ten million player at one point.....he was pish last year and the signs in preseason is he isnt much better......

the problem... he is the player he has always been and always will be. potentially good and shows signs of it but will never get consistant enough to prove he's good enough for any top team. the proof's in the history- most capped under 21 player in italy, how many big boy caps does he have? Zero. (can someone please verify that because thats just amazing.) signed by milan, then proves he's not good enough.
maybe he's a prima dona, or maybe he dosn't handle pressure very well.

 

Too hit and miss for my liking ...The goals against Aberdeen & Hearts were amazing and he looked good but some of his performances have been ...Lacklustre to say the least ...Dont think WGS will get rid of him though , i think he is here to stay for a while longer ........

 

He's more talented than most of his teammates, he just can't perform. sad but true, but a talented player not performing is as valuable as kenny misser -> zero.

I guess the problem lies in his head. confidence, missing his country/parents/friends or something else... only he can solve that.

Don't say that Surely if he's as good as the people on TC reckoned he performed tonight, he'll get a few offers which is exactly what WGS wants IMO. Doubt it though. Tonight he was poor in the 1st half and did very little in the 2nd. I think people were slightly surprised that he didn't have a nightmare (Broadfoot style lol). I certainly was anyway.

 

Brown, Robson and, hopefully, Crosas should be our first choice CMs for next season. Donati and Hartley as the back ups.

Good question. All I see is a guy that likes to be on the ball and creates nothing. When it comes to tackling, you watch, every time he times it so that he misses the challenge. * playing beside him in the middle of the park. He's a big guy as well!
