Definitely think we are interested, why wouldn't we be?

Rodgers, Congerton and everyone involved will know of him, he's been rated highly for years. Big, pacey, mobile striker.

    Would be another masterstroke.

Hopefully there's a good chance we'll sign him then. An exciting prospect. I'm just naturally pessimistic about our potential transfers as I know the board won't throw silly money around.

Plus when are our transfers ever in the rags weeks before they happen? Most go under the radar these days but I'm sure we're interested. He may want to stay in England unfortunately but CL and the development of Dembele might sway him.

Good point. The club do tend to keep things as quiet as possible, which makes sense, prevents a bidding war.

The leak wouldn't ever come from Celtic though, what would be the sense in that?

The leak comes from Chelsea not wanting to lose £8m in compensation, so they leak it to the press to force a Liverpool into throwing money at the young boy. Or the agent leaks it to drum up interest, for similar reasons.

I didn't say Celtic would leak it, though.

Just saying as there's a notion that we haven't been leaking transfer info these days, when in reality a buying club would rarely want that type of info to be public knowledge, especially in a pre-contract situation.

Leaks would generally come from the selling club, agent or even the player. Sure there are cases where a buying side would, but it would be more infrequent.

Isn't he leaving Chelsea because they won't pay him 50 grand a week? No chance he's coming here if that's the case.

No. If you look at his twitter he made the paper print an apology because it was completely made up.

Seems it's all to do with first team football.

For such a small fee for the development side of things (400-500k) then surely we could offer him a decent signing on fee as well as decent wages? If he turns into another Moussa then it would be money well. Considering how much it would be to go out and buy a decent striker and pay their wages also I think giving him close to what he is asking isn't unreasonable.

Got to agree and looking at the accounts in the interim we must have gave Moussa a good signing-on fee last summer as according to accounts we spent over £9.1m on player registrations, so Moussa and Kolo must have got a nice wee earner!

As has been said, that was the rags making * up again. He said himself.

Cheers. Looks like he's had a loan spell at vitesse scoring 7 in 25 appearances. Can anyone with some knowledge of Dutch football tell us how he looked?

7 in 25 is awrite I'd say depends on how many shots they get on goal per game if it's high then he should have more if it's low then it's a decent return for his age

I just think a lot of our recent transfers seem to have come out of nowhere, the rags only get a story on it when the player is seen having talks with us. Maybe the selling clubs/agents haven't needed to leak anything as we've done a good enough deal beforehand but we get linked to a lot of players and it's mostly bullshit. This one seems legit as he's a similar situation to Moussa last year.

A year ago this would've been laughed at. Now, with Rodgers (ex Chelsea youth coach), Congerton (Ex Chelsea head of recruitment) and the player's we have here like Dembele coming from West London and getting the exposure he is playing week in week out.....you never know..

We're a much more attractive proposition than we were before Rodgers..
