Would a mentor get the number 7 shirt, get out there and start ripping a new one to the opposition?
The problem last night was ON the park, not off it. The players were second best to every ball, could not string more than a couple of passes together and we were weak in every position and sometimes you just cannot legislate for that, despite every effort to do so. -

i would say no he will learn from the european disaters his spl record is still intact and thats what we are concentrating on.

The three most important games he has managed, he has lost. You can blame the players all you want, but the players who lost it for us, are the players Lennon chose. Players don't pick themselves. -

* getting a mentor
-
sorry to disagree with this one mate but lenny never set them up to lose 4-0 did he no you could tell he was disapointed in them with the way they were playing. so they need to buck up im afraid. lenny has taken the blame though to protect the players confidence unlike what mowbray done last season -
lennon picked pretty much the same team as we suggested in the pre-match thread so you cant blame the loss on the line up. i think what went wrong was that we acted like "aye, job done" when really we were only half way through the tie. -

He's either good enough for the job or not, to bring in a mentor just makes it a farce, it immediatly undermines the managers position..............

The players were put on the park to do a job which none of them done apart from maybe Forrest. The rest of them showed no fight and very little drive at all. On a pitch that was soaked from incessant rain we should have been concentrating on tightening up as soon as we went 1-0 down yet we our players could not seem to put a foot on the ball and slow things down, despite Lennon and Thommo ranting at them on the touchline to do so. We're not talking about schoolkids here, these are highly paid professionals who should have been a lot more clever in their application last night. In my opinion the blame lies with them. -

We didn't need to score, Lennon knew that and set them up not to lose. The problems originate when there are players on the park who believe the game is won before the set foot on the pitch and who also lack leadership. Brown is shocking as a captain and does not deserve the armband. I've been watching Celtic over 30 years and I can honestly say I've never seen a weaker or more anonymous captain. -

Guys its both the players and manager, its never just one or the other. He should have played Maloney from the beginning why he was dropped for Forrest ill never know. Secondly he fielded an attacking side for a containing game. It was never going to work because the distance between midfield and attack was so big i could have given a whale a home there. Maloney is key for us when linking midfield and attack.
Yes you can say forrest was one of the only ones who were really trying but his lack of experience really told and there was literally no communication between defence to midfield and midfield to attack.
When you play 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 you cannot tell players to do one thing when the formation demands another. The players were terrible last night and have only themselves to blame but they were not aided with tactics which are in the very least debatable and when i saw the line up without maloney i was worried. He is our only player who can hold onto a ball in a tight situation and make something happen.
All in all it was a night to forget, hopefully we can continue our unbeaten run in the SPL but a season without Europe is a * disgrace and Lennon better let the players know this. To answer the question i think for europe lennon needed a mentor but since we are no longer in europe he doesn't need one for the bread and butter SPL. -
lenny went into the game with the right idea, get a goal and kill the tie early on. if he sat back and "parked the bus" then it would be a matter of time before we conceded, atleast we had a chance with the way he set up. -
he needs a huge whip, that will be more use than a mentor

As for a mentor a few wise words of wisdom could help us out a wee bitty! Maybe teach lennon not to play the game (tie) out! -
