The scum are going for high profile loan signings of quality players past their sell by dates so their wage bill must e catching up with us and we have done nothing in the transfer market yet . If we don’t make a significant investment in our playing squad then there is a possibility they may pip us at the post .
Hopefully their high profile loan signings will encourage us to trim the squad of the deadwood and invest in the team to take us to the next level so the league is wrapped up by March and put the scum into severe financial difficulties.

I can never not worry, not when there’s not a massive gap at least. It’s just part of being a Celtic fan for me. It probably takes about a 12 point gap for me to feel like I can relax a bit :giggle1:

The * on the board would rather throw £4 million on disco lights than a * defender every one of them should be hunted .if Dave king was conducting himself the way our board do we'd be pishing ourselves laughing at them ,loans and projects, nobody wants to come to Scotland ,we tried our best etc .
sevco are pish which begs the question how pish have we become ,we are too strong for them this season the worry is next if somebody from the epl fancies Tierney, edouard, rogic or all three
Our board are a * joke if sevco ever win the the league again it will be down to this penny pinching *

I agree with that. I actually think that arrogance has seeped within not only the playing squad but the backroom guys too.

We should be worrying .. no question.

Facts are we are halfway through the season and (assuming we win our game in hand) 3 points ahead... they are strengthening (granted with a short term strategy signing older, but quality players who will stroll this league) and we are looking at young, unproven projects who don't necessarily improve us...

We need to stop fannying about and sign some decent players who can make an impact, drop the players who are under performing week in, week out (lustig/nitcham/Brown) and work out a plan B for when we're struggling in away games.

Its not about them, they are mince and not much better than previous seasons .. however we have regressed so much it's frightening and anyone who is not concerned about that definitely has more faith than me!

Exactly. It is part and parcel of being a football supporter.

The posters who are still shouting down legitimate concerns are starting to look and sound as daft as some of the more neurotic ones.

    This thread :giggle1:

Penny pinching, reality is we pay 58 million quid in wages
Now people moan about the lights and hotel - the same * probably lapped it up when they were announced though Shortly they will be moaning about the Celtic way ..
Some actually saying they think the board would prefer to have a serious challenge from sevco - this is perhaps the most stupid statement I have read though.

What is the point you're even trying to make here? We shouldn't celebrate infrastructure developments in the club if we aren't going to support our club's lack of transfer business? Being happy about the lights, hotel, etc. is perfectly normal because it comes with the assumption that we will be investing in other areas of the club, ie. the most important component- the players.

Don't think it's so far flung to posit that PL and DD to some degree are thankful that Sevco are challenging Celtic. They are businessmen-- not football men-- and it's been clear to me for years that they care way more about our balance sheet and profit potential than the final product put out on the pitch on match day. The 'competition' between Celtic and Rangers can only be good for business.

Davis and Defoe may be approaching the tail end of their careers but they will certainly add quality to their squad. They might not be as good as they once were but they will definitely be a big improvement on what they currently have.

They aren't better than what I thought, we are worse than what I thought.

    That's what complacency does.

1 good window and the league is ours, 2 and at least 9 in a row is a cert.

Two very good signings to be honest. Yes we should be worried, they have monentum, they are strengthing, they have the media and officials backing them, we seem to be going backwards, anyone not worried has their head up their *.

    My point was perfectly clear.
Who says we aren't investing in the playing side, 58 million quid in wages illustrates we are.
I can only repeat my thoughts on the board wanting to have a serious challenge from the orcs = This is one of the most stupid things I have read on here and believe me I have read some belters on here.

Oh, well as long as you've read some belters on here I trust your opinion 100%. Glad that that's settled.

Make of their title challenge what you will but at the end of the day they have improved their squad already this window.

We don’t seem to be able to stop going down the project route. I know that is a big part of how we work but we need a balance of quality and projects.

Even if we do try spending a bit more money I don’t really have the faith that we will spend it wisely. We have signed so many duds and deadwood it is unreal. Gone seem to be the days of picking up Van Dijks, Wanyamas etc now we get the likes Compper and Hendry :52:

Two excellent signings for them. I am not overly concerned though as we should have more than enough about us but there is still no doubt we need to get some good business done this month. Potentially Boyata leaving, Lustig past it, Griffiths recovering, Sinclair hot and cold. More quality is needed.

If they don’t win the league this year it could backfire spectacularly.

If the win it...it will pay off.

That thought is unbearable and Lawwell should understand the consequences if that were to happen.

If we actually lose the league to them this year Lawwell should never show his face around Celtic Park ever again. All his smug, self-congratulatory 'financial prowess' will be worth absolutely nothing then.
