There is the elections coming up and a bit of fuss is being made over Scotland going it alone away from the union. Do you bother to vote and whats your opinion on the push for full independance? I'm still not convinced that the Nationalists' sums add up. But I'm considering giving them my vote to see if they are fit to govern. They could have a 3 year trial then in 2010 we can have the referendum.
And I'd also say that if you are able to vote you should do it. -

I have never voted. I totally understand the point that we all should use our vote but I have never felt that anyone is deserving of my vote. Whatever way you vote I think we will still get done left, right and centre. And I've not got the minerals to stand up and put myself forward with my opinions. Sometimes I think my opinions on everything could be better than all the others running.

Maybe the Scottish Parliament elections would suit you better mate. You can use the list vote to help a smaller party if none of the main parties appeal to you.
Parties like the SSP and the Greens can get MSP's elected now. -

i dont think getting "celebs" to help them will work,, idont think it will,as the scottish people are more intelliegent than to listen to celeb sports people ,or old actors telling us what they think,

to be honest i dont know what independance is i know what independence means,,but ive not heard what it will mean for scotland,
i know the oil money will stay in scotland,
i know we "scotland" can trade on our own with other countrys

i just think it would be shame to have Scotland as a separate nation. if that was to happen i would have to higher costs of traveling to football matches and the such like for work and pleasure. i work for a Scottish company ROCKSTEADY and my main work is going to be in Scotland.

The thing is independence does not equal SNP rule. After independence goes through, the SNP will no longer have a point and in the first election afterwards they will be turfed out. They are just a vehicle to get independence. Personally, after independence I would switch to a more socialist party. I assume after independence a seperate Scottish Labour type party will set up who are not puppets of the westminster party.

If SNP win the election independence won't go through straight away. Another referendum will be done and sent to westminster so we can finally breakaway. We didn't even join the union democratically, it was all the rich folk who were promised more money from the english that sold off Scotland, most people were against it. So its time for a change imo.
More money, less tax under SNP rule.
