no chance, the green brigrade where completely bang out with that on saturday. I love the GB for what they are doing with helping to create a better atmosphere but the banner was just sickening imo.

Yep. not talking about the wars and whether they illegal. Some people disagree with protests at CP. Plenty peeople will agree that these were wrong, but dont need to bring it to CP. Thats the *

Public protests have always been the norm in this society, it is the only way to make a point. No-one has made you attend Parkhead

Sorry mate but that is just wrong. They chose to sign up. They do have the choice. If they did not believe in it then they can choose not to go. There is only so much that can be blamed on the politics behind it. What do they actually think they are signing up for?

The British army has become a total puppet for America who conduct wars for private gain and not to defend us. Its a myth that has been exposed through the weapons of mass destruction lie. We live in an age where these things have become all too obvious. To deflect the blame away from individuals is not entirely fair.

It doesn't belong at CP. If they have something to say. They should get together with a bit of purpose and go to London or wherever. They're pretty half-arsed actually. If they care about it so much, why don't they do more than a banner. They should leave it out of CP and go for it elsewhere.

what does all this have to do with celtic??? we were all there on saturday to support the team so why do they insist on bringing these banners which have nothing to do with supporting the team ?? theres a time and place for protests but saturday and celtic park isnt the place !!

To the people who say Politics and football don't mix - need I remind you that Reid is our Chairman which is a disgrace in itself.

I think the GB should have kept scthum though for the sake of the majority, but I guess that goes against the whole point of our football club - which is why this is such a topical issue.

It seems to prop up every year now, and I think the best thing to do is what so many people have mentioned; wear one if you want to and don't wear one if you're against it.

Stick to fitba lads and lassies - we won 9-0 on saturday!!:icon_mrgreen:

I don't agree with the banner but i accept the right of people to object to the poppy if thats their belief, however inside Celtic park is the wrong place ! Its a football stadium, where football is played and supported. They should take their objections to a better political venue. I'm Scottish, protestant and supported Celtic all my life. I joined the Army at sixteen and served 14 years, serving wherever they sent me, including 3 tours of Ireland, searching for bombs designed and planted to kill both protestants and catholics. I'm proud of what i did and wear a poppy, but thats mt choice just as its others not too. But for some to come on here and tell others they should not be supporting Celtic etc is a bigger disgrace ! But the Green Brigade must have known what would happen and the grief that would come the way of the club.

I can see where people are coming from saying the gb weren't protesting against ww1 and ww2 but they would have to be ignorant or just stupid to think that the press and any non Celtic fan of the "i'll protest against anything" persuasion would think otherwise.

If that was solely the case then they could have made their views known in their own time rather than bringing all the fans down with them. They knew their actions would have been picked up on yet they went ahead with it regardless without consideration. I'm not putting a downer on their protest. We are all entitled to protest but most people have the common sense to decide when and where it's acceptable.

If they are against the recent wars then i'm against that too to a certain extent. I know quite a few people out fighting for the country right now. They don't choose to go kill certain people. It's their job. I don't know anyone who signed up for the army with the intent to target any country or a certain group of people. They are just given a destination and given their task. People need to think that some people join the army because they can't find other work. Should they be told they are a disgrace? I don't think so. My girlfriends dad fought over in ireland. He's from Yorkshire, follows no religion and is probably the kindest guy i have met. He never went over there intending to harm anyone. He just knew it was his duty. Again he never signed up through choice. He lost his job and had kids to look after and had no other choice. A disgrace?? :31:
