    i have sympathy for the irish republican cause, the same with the catalan, the basque, the scottish et cetera. does not mean i support violence to achieve these aims.

    since we were founded by a christian its best to follow his example. he would have been against war and conflict so any armed struggle songs should not be sung in my opinion. i have no problem at all with the fields or let the people sing.

    Thats why a list is needed so people know what they can and cant sing

    and if the club produced a list of songs that we would be allowed to sing, none of them would have any mention of the armed struggle.

    Thats still a bit vague

    But if the club came out with a list i would follow it and im sure any other real fans would as well, the problem is its a such grey area .

    Fans should police themselves no-one else should.

    Songs like the fields are ok cause they reflect the famine and all that but songs about paramilitarism clearly have nothing to do with Celtic FC and I think Walfrid would be turning in his grave. He probably believed in the cause but as sco-ire says there is no chance he believed in violent nationalism.

    Cause they do it so well:38: Self policing has failed. Away games show what happens when we are not policed. The number of songs that have nothing to do with football or Celtic goes through the roof. Celtic is a football club not a political rally. Some may want it to be a political thing but its is clear that is not what the club was founded for (charity and sport). If you are political, join a party and attend their rallys. Singing politics at football games is like joining the Labour party then insisting they spend 50% of the time talking about football.

    Disagree. Celtic fans police themselves all the time and are the most critical of their own fans in the World. If Celtic were gulity of causing trouble I'm pretty sure they would be slagged off a lot by fellow fans. Just imagine if we did what Liverpool fans did in Athens

    i don't know about anyone else but going to watch celtic on a saturday is a good chance to get away from other things in life. chance to get away from school, exams and homework, and for my dad its his work. we spend all week worrying about these things and at the weekend it is good to get away from them and relaxing. we worry about politics, work, school and religion all during the week, i just like a chance to relax and forget about that.

    Yeah mate going to watch Celtic is a great way to relax. Sit back with yer wee prawn sandwitch, and chill out and be entertained. Football used to be about thousands of like minded people meeting up, getting pished and going to the match to cheer on your team and get tore into the opposition and the referee's. Now theres no more gettin pished:86:, can't sing songs about the DOB's and you'll get banned for insinuating that the officials masonic.

    Bring back the jungle:34::50:
