Not a fan of turncoats. If you believe your a true Celtic fan then you are. I dont think that it doesnt make you true but you should always support the one team no matter what (in terms of another spl team ). Ano there will be plenty of Celtic fans who havent been a fan since birth will be a 'bigger' fan than me. But Celtics in the blood. Really dont think i've made sense atall but * it :56:

i am from australia, and for most of my life ive followed rugby league and union. It has only been since about 2000 that ive been a football fan and since about 2002 a Celtic fan. The reason I chose Celtic was due to its inclusiveness of all people regardless of who they are and I see the old firm rivalry as a clash of the ideals of equality, acceptance, equal opportunity and tolerance vs that of aristocracy, exclusion and birth right. hence I think the question posed by this thread would be more fitting to the huns then to us and i see that as a bigger factor for the rivalry than any sectarianism or the status of northern ireland. So to sum up what I was saying? Do you have to have been a tim since birth to be true? the answer is NO. The question do you have to have been a hun since birth to be true? based on the historical ideals of their club, the answer in my opinion would have to be yes

I was born a celtic fan, my mum and dad were celtic fans, their dads tOO. I don't think it matters how and when you become a Celtic fan just as long as you do.

I was born in the East End of London and was taken to see West Ham v Leeds as my first game of football in 1968. I was 5 years old.
My Dad was Leeds Utd supporter and a Yorkshireman, but wanted me to support his team. He talked about Moore, Hurst, Peters et al which was strange considering Leeds had Bremner, Giles, Hunter, Lorimer etc.
I've supported West Ham Utd all my life, but my love and overwhelming support for Celtic happened in 1970 when I was privileged to be taken to Hampden Park by my Dad to see Celtic v Leeds in the European Cup semi final.
I saw Jimmy Johnstone and the rest as they say is history.
My Father was never one to bear grudges and he would be the first to admit that Terry Cooper (supposedly the best LB in the world at the time) was completely outplayed by Jinky in both games and his beloved Billy Bremner was put in his place by Bertie Auld.
My Dad sadly died 6 years ago (on July 12th this year), and his grave is marked with his football heroes, Bremner, Moore and Johnstone.
Football is about opinions and I'd like to think that my Dad recognised great footballers and wasn't blinkered by his love of his team.
I now live in Glasgow (the last 8 years), a season ticket holder in the North Stand with my Stepson, who was brainwashed by his Dad to be a Man Utd fan.
He feels strongly and passionately about the club, the fans and the history of the place.
I've lived in New York and was a member of the NY supporters club for the two years I lived there too (97-99).

It's an incredible journey - BUT I DO HATE THOSE SPURS BAST---S!!:31::31:

its doesnt really matter that much if you where born a celtic fan or not my father was a celtic fans his father before him and so on and now my whole family of cousins uncles and aunties are celtic fans on my dads side any way my mothers family are rangers fans and because the way they act we are not really family any more they kinda hated the fact my mum married a catholic any way my mother also went on to support celtic .any way my point is even though all this influence of celtic in the family i didnt really call my self a fan until i was 10 because by then i really understood what football was meant and felt and thats y i chose to support celtic because for some reason and im not being biased but celtic does feel like the better place to be not in terms of winning coz we had not won anything up until 2000/01 when a was growing up it was just the feeling you got of the club it just felt good and looking at rangers and ibrox coz i stayed down the road in govan it just felt dark and not right thats y a agree with people who call it mordor coz that is the feeling you get from it

na it doesnt matter. i know boys who were celtic fans when they were younger and now support rangers. ive supported celtic my whole life but ive probably had spells of mini supporting every team in the english prem. even if you supported say motherwell before becoming a celtic fan you are just as much of a fan as someone who has supported celtic their whole life.

my dads name is tim so i was always gonny be a celtic fan.as for supporting someone else i dont think you can be a rangers fan then a celtic fan or vice versa but i think a lot of people have soft spots for other teams.i used to stay in helensburgh and played football for a team in dumbarton so ive a wee soft spot for them.it was good to see them win the league but really sad that they lost their captain in such tragic circumstances.

any team outside celtic i always want them to get beat off the underdog think it just good to see teams that are written off to perform well against a top side although i do support scottish teams bar ranger to do well in europe

When i was a kid i supported liverpool cause most of my mates did.My mums side of the family are catholic and support celtic so i was always aware of them. My parents have no interest in football. I even went of football for a while and when i got back into it i decided to follow the celts due to the family connections(thank *). Cant stand liverpool now after living up in the city haha!

Ah i grew up just down the road from where our Brothere Walfreds home was. I always followed celtic as a child but it was mostly following the group, when i was asked to do a project for school on the Club and its link to our area and Ireland in general, i became fascinated with the Club, its beginnings and everything it stands for. It is one of my greatest passion and causes many of my happiest and sadest moments in life. Being a Celt is an honour, ask any of the fans of other Clubs around the world who envy the atmosphere we create and the commradery we have with each other.

The gratest Club in the world does after all deserve the greatest fans in the world.

Singing rebel songs doesn't make you a Celtic fan, supporting Celtic makes you a Celtic fan nothing to do with your political beliefs.

Also, knowing the words to rebel songs doesn't make you a republican.
