Joe Ledley is the best midfielder at the club and compliments all of our midfielders best. He's also been our most consistent this year. Ki on the other hand, doesn't always suit and is a shitebag.

Ledley and Kayal is the way forward. Wanyama 3rd choice.

Fair enough. (still pointless though :icon_mrgreen:)

Its just the nature of football fans. Ki has a poor game, doesn't play the next which is won, and just like that, a lot of people think he's awful and that we should sell him. Similarly, if Ki has a decent run of games, which he did at the start of this season, then to a large amount of people he is worth 10 million and is the next Fabregas. We all change our minds stupidly fast when it comes to players.

As for the wage, well clearly if your figures are right, then we need to reassess the wage structure of the club, and Ki deserves a pay rise.

Yesterday was one of the first times I've seen us play without Ledley in midfield and completely fall apart. What he does quite often isn't spectacular, but he is always there to make the pass and create space. We look a far more solid outfit with him in the midfield.

Mountain out of a mole hill!

Exactly the above, the thread is just to show people how fickle our fans can be, for instance I CANNOT believe I am seeing praise for Sammy. Mind is literally blown.

Figures are quite accurate, however I believe he gets a good chunk of the advertising money he generates. But still. Not Ki's fault ledley is a Cardiff boy lol

Don't get me wrong Ki is a good player just don't think he's got it in him to be a battler which is what we need.

Praise is for when players play well mate, like Sammy last night, deserved it.

I understand your point pal, I just don't understand why you put it like that. Ah well :50:

As for praising Sammy, well that's for a different thread. He was good last night. Really good. But again, he doesn't and shouldn't suddenly become our saviour for this season.

We should all try and be less fickle and look at the big picture as opposed to one or two games to rate players imo. Everyone does it a bit.

Most of Ledley's best work goes un-noticed. Watch him closely next time he plays. The way he tracks back to cover, makes passing angles for team mates, always looking to play the most effective simple ball. Just very high footballing IQ. The team looks so much solid when he's involved.

That being said, Ki's the most talented footballer we have on the squad. No question. But, he's been flat and under-performed the last four or five games. That's not an undue criticism. That is fact. Part of it may be due to tiredness, but reality is, I think part of his drop is due to the fact that Kayal was so half-baked during the same period. An underperforming Beram means all of Ki's deficiencies are magnified. This is not excusing Ki. What it shows is that he's no where near the complete player yet and how dependent he is on his central partner. Still, think these threads are harsh on Ki and this one much much harsher on Ledley.

I have had people say "watch Ledley, his work go's unnoticed" granted I am not saying he is a bad footballer. But I don't agree for one minute he is our best. I always watch for this unnoticed amazing play and yet, it still suprisingly go's unnoticed lol

How could we possibly play better without our most consistent player?

    Exactly what I was thinking.

Ledley churns out good performances week in, week out... Infact, I can't remember him playing badly? Unfortunately the same cannot be said of Ki, who I do like.

It's cause you got to understand that a 25 yard sprint to cover passing lanes that may be caused due to a team mates mis-tackle is just as important as a 50 yard throughball that leads to a corner.

A question to the OP - did you even bother watching Celtic last season?

Your daft question suggests you did not.

I think Ledley is one of our better players to be honest. He is a total workhorse and is under valued by large sections of the support. I'd have him on my starting 11.

Silly thread. Just an overreaction to the Ki thread which was justified. For the record a rate Ki highly.

Ledley has played in a Celtic MF that has dominated other teams, most notably the Huns.

The reality is, Ledley is in our strongest XI, Ki isn't.

Wow, what a dumb * thread! I get why people might have this view but this is purely about trying to wined up people on the forum! Fair play if this is your view but there's no point in making threads out of bitterness

And no, i don't think we are a better footballing team without Ledley! Played amazingly last night, but there's been too many occasions this season where a lot of the players haven't been like that and Ledley HAS been on of our most consistent players!

    Hail Hail

Absolutely not. Ledley should be in the team when fit.
