u never know .. going from that article sporting only want him for a year long loan deal with a view to a permanent move. Tristan doesnt want a loan move imo.
if celtic are willing to cough up 2mil. and find out what kind of wages he expects.. as good a chance of getting him as the others i would say.. if he decides he wants to move to us.. then we will see how much celtic really want him or not..

yes celtic, benfica and sporting want him but sporting have been slightly knocked out of the picture because they want him in a 1 yr loan deal which he says hes not interested in

good news is that sporting only seem willing to offer a loan as they dont have a huge amount of oney just now. although apparently they are currently trying to offload some fringe players. pinilla, a bit of a star for chile, is currently on trial at hearts. heres a good goal he scored

apparently he's a bit of playboy...anyway benfica who were also linked with tristan have just signed the italian striker miccoli, who they had on loan season, so that may rule out them also going for trisatn
however, to be honest, i'd be surprised if we got him. it makes too much sense for us to go for a top class striker from la liga :) !it just seems inconceivable to me, that mediocre clubs in rich leagues wont go for him. and they'll pay whatever he wants. as humiliating as it is, we can't compete with the likes blackburn, portsmouth et al on wages! but at least we are going for someone like him...its infuriating when a top class player goes to a mediocre club, without celtic competing for him...e.g. van der vaart-£3.7m to hamburg -
He is just what we need a good experienced striker with Talent!!

Benfica havent shown an interrest in him ... they just signed Miccolli for another year and are not currentyly looking for another striker .... one club who is tho are Porto .. are trying to sign Vennegoor of Hesselink but dont want to pay the 6 million Euro . that PSV are asking for .
So if it was a club in Portugal that Celtic are competing against I would understand more if it were Porto rather than Sporting .... especially as Porto has a habit of hijacking players who Sporting and Benfica are after !!!!!
apart from them three cant see another club who can match his wages or transfer fee plus give him Champs League which is a stipulation according to the papers here .... we wait and see !!!! -
