I know McGregor is at fault for their first equaliser, but why did Laxalt stop tracking the runner there?

    Heart of a lion.

    * love the wee guy.

Gives his absolute all, and isn't afraid to take * out as well.

Aye he gets caught out of position and sometimes runs all over the shop but what a player.

Would be a dream if we could actually sign him.

He was also the guy that played them on when they should have scored. He did have a good game in general, though.

A bit of a contradiction there although, I suppose he can be forgiven as Duffy was back beside him.

Watch it again. Duffy is in line with the other defenders. Laxalt is 3yrds behind everyone else

I agree, I meant you can’t have a good game, in my opinion, if you don’t do the basics. Tracking back and not doing your defensive duties correctly, ie being behind the line and playing the boy on.

If I was playing beside Duffy I'd start 3 yards behind him too

I actually spent a bit of time watching Duffy last night (we've had so many problems defensively that I wanted to watch our defence against a top side) and two things stood out for me:

    1) Julien reads the game very, very well.
    2) Duffy was doing a lot of organising back there, particularly set plays. I don't know if it's coincidence, but we did seem to cope a bit better with that too.

I didn't think he had a bad game TBH. He did have a couple of dodgy moments; but the same could be said for Laxalt (who we all agree had a great game). I think he deserves more time.

How long? I don't know, but Kevin Wilson wasn't that good until his second season.

Edit: sorry to post this in the Laxalty thread, but since Duffy has been brought up in order to criticise him, I figure it's legitimate for me to defend him a little.

The save the hazard had to make to stop the equaliser for 3-3, I don't know how much of it you can lay at Laxalt for the opportunity.

Without looking back again at it he seemed like he was focused on tracking the runner and went with him and given the runner is in behind Duffy the carthorse I don't think you can fault Laxalt probably following instinct and running with him to try and defend.

Can we put some of his errors down to being relatively new to the team and a different style of play to what he's used to? And the substandard management he's receiving.

Personally think he's absolute class and if we could keep him long term it would be some business. Shame he probably won't experience a full house at CP before his loan ends

The guy does way more good than bad and he shows for it. On the ball and off, he shows dig and does not stop.

Delighted with his contribution and he has probably been our most consistent player during a shitshow.

This guy comes in from Milan, barely speaks English and still gets on with it with a great attitude.

His mannerisms on the pitch are hilarious along with his wry smiles when he commits wee pro fouls.

A feisty beacon of light and I take my hat off to the lad for it all.

CELTIC star Diego Laxalt's agent has dealt the Hoops a blow after revealing the Uruguay defender wants to play in England next season.

The 27-year-old on-loan full back came on as a sub for Greg Taylor in Celtic's historic Scottish Cup triumph against Hearts to win his first ever winners' medal in his career.

Laxalt has been a success at Parkhead having made 15 appearances for Neil Lennon's side and scored once against Hibs at Easter Road.

He is due to return to the San Siro at the end of the season after his loan spell in Scotland expires and he still has a year left of his deal at the Serie A leaders after that.

However, his agent - former Boca Juniors and Uruguay midfielder Ariel Krasouski - reckons Laxalt will then seek a move south of the border for next season.

He said: "Diego is playing a lot of games for Celtic and he is very happy there. They treat him very well in Glasgow.

In the summer he will return to Milan after his loan contract at Celtic ends.

"I think Milan will try and sell him at that point before his contract expires in a year's time.

Diego's wish is to play next season in England. We'll have to wait and see what happens."

We told you last month how Italian source gianlucadimarzio.com had claimed that Celtic want to seal a permanent deal for the on-loan left back.

They said the Hoops were keen to keep Laxalt and are ready to start negotiations with Milan soon.

I like him a lot but he looks clueless in the final third..

Always stops and takes an age to do something with it. Crossing is poor and his decision making..

Some athlete and bombs on. Excellent defensively as well..

Didn't think he would want to be here next season and i don't blame him.

Don't blame him for wanting to play in England, happy he is here and doing s good job.
But the lack of fans, the general had training, coaching and gloom around the club won't be selling another stint here, perm or loan.

We should however at least enquire what the cost would be and out an offer to him though. 27, he could be here another season or two and still get his big money contract down south again.
But that's pipe dream stuff from a fan, I fully expect a club like Everton would happily snap him up and in s year or two go higher.

I wouldn't be upset to lose him in the summer.

Celtic fullbacks must be contributing to goals and he just doesn't do enough in the final third.

Probably the best defender at the club though.

I'm not bothered about him leaving in the Summer either but ffs at least make use of him between now & then instead of Taylor being ahead of him when he's fit to play.
