It's mental, right? We got beaten in successive games by one pretty decent team (people can protest all they want, but their European results don't lie) and one world-class team who wouldn't look out of place in the CL at a time when we are nowhere even close to full strength (both in terms of availability and in terms of match sharpness); but to go on this place, you'd think our first 11 had just lost 4 games in a row against diddy teams.

 

I think it is the manner of the defeat most folk would query.

 

I hope we sign this guy permanently at end of season tbh looks a good player and done well against milan

 

Really? Honestly, we did about as well as I expected in both games.

 

He looks not bad. Would like to see how he does at left back the morra. Lennon will probably have him up front or something though

I was actually very disappointed, so disappointed that I avoided this place for a couple of days after Sunday; but I wasn't surprised after all the injuries, the late signings and the Covid call-offs. Once the list of players unavailable or playing not fully fit was clear, we did about as well as I expected.

We did about as well as we could have against Rangers. They are a decent team and won comfortably, but I was watching it closely and saw nothing to scare me when we have everyone fit. AC Milan are AC Milan. They are a CL quality side and even our first 11 would have to play out of their skins to win that one.

Bit by bit, players are returning and players who had already returned are gaining fitness. I'm confident we can beat Rangers at their place (though, as I say, they are a better team than most on here acknowledge). I'm also confident that we will give a better account of ourselves in the EL going forward. Whether it will be enough to beat the likes of AC Milan, only time will tell.

Not surprised and not panicking is not the same as not disappointed.

 

Hmm, know what you are saying about the absentees etc.. but we have been in that position before and come out fighting, Sammy sunday or the 3-2 game when Jozo was sent off, come to mind. It is the lack of belief which McGregor hinted at and the subsequent lack of fight that galls me.
Anyway, tomorrow is a new day. We have done well in recent years up at Pittodrie and here's hoping we get a reaction tomorrow.

 

Pittodrie is the best game we could ask for TBH.

 

Agree with that chum. Moi had probably his best game for us up there last year. We wrecked them in first 20 mins. Here's hoping for more of the same..

 

Guy was everywhere for us today. Really tidy player!

 

He was good defensively. Worked hard. Delivery was shocking though.

 

I'm really impressed with his defending, I cant wait until he's up to speed.

 

Feel sorry for him man, think he's been our best player in last 3 games.
